Hi,
We are using localization in asp.net with resource files.
We have a default.resx resource file for a default.aspx page and a default.aspx.hi-in.resx to support hindi.
The problem is that when we type in hindi in the resource file we see junk characters.
So do we have to install any language pack to the .net solutions in order to support hindi language or fonts.
And also how to load data dynamically to drop down list using resource files for multi-lingual site.
thanks,
sabiha.

Dear Friends,
I have a web application running from 10 different places. Application Server is their local server. But Database server is same for all. There is only one login ID created for all users to access pages (Form Based Authentication).
Will be any Problem in Sessions ?
Because on my system I logged with that user name. I have used Login View to show login status. I have written logged in Template and Anonymous user Template. When I login it is showing correcty with my name. After some time it is displaying as Guest (login). But I have not logged out. I dont know why it showing so....
Please help me out....

It's more likely that your session has simply died.
Far as I'm concerned, the default timeout for sessions is 10 minutes (or is it 20? I'm not sure).
So even though you have not logged out manually, I am sure you have some facilities in place to do that for you, if the login session is dead.
Now ask yourself how long you had been logged in without performing any postbacks on the page to keep the session alive and see if it exceeded 10 minutes.
... and don't say your query is urgent. It might be to you, but it's totally irrelevant to others.
var question = (_2b || !(_2b));

Hi,
You are right. But in Web.Config file I have mentioned this line.
<sessionState mode="InProc" stateConnectionString="tcpip=127.0.0.1:42424" sqlConnectionString="data source=127.0.0.1;Trusted_Connection=yes" cookieless="UseCookies" timeout="1400" />
Still what could be the problem ?

It might be because someone else might be logging out , and hence the session object is disposed ..
So you are showed as guest then . .

Hi,
I have checked this Site on my System. I am the only person logged in. No other user logged in. Even I mentioned the session time to 1400. Still how it is expiring ?

You need to check every events in which you are trying to kill the session..
You might be unknowingly calling such events..
Time out is not the problem...

The funny thing is, you keep asking idiotic questions, but you never answer anyone who replies. Please stop it, and go away. If you're not trolling, then you're so stupid that I don't know how you manage to use a keyboard.
Or, you could try to buy some books, do some research, learn how to use google, ask intelligent questions and respond when people try to help you.

You can create one event of linklabelclickevent() and assign it to every linkbutton you are creating at the time of declaration..
Its something like this;
linkbutton lnk1 = new linkbutton();
lnk1.Click += new EventHandler("your old click event");
this will call the same event when any of the button is clicked.
You might be wondering that whats the meaning to do such a thing. Hw would you identify which key is pressed..
For that you need to check the sender object passed in the event.
This sender object contains the information of the object which fired this event.
Then you need to get the char with the help of this object..
It is somewhat like this.
string val = ((LinkButton)sender).Text;
I might be somewhat wrong in syntx but its something like this. .

Hi php person
First off there is a php forum and this is an ASP.net forum.
Second you need to connect to the database and then retrieve the information using stored procs and then use php to display the info. More info can be found on various websites with examples!

Hello, this is my first post about such things and the reason for this is that i have to make some webparts in asp and i've tried everything but i can't make it work. What i need is a webpart that has a listbox with items generated after i get some info from another application and based on the selected index in the listbox a number of texboxes are generated. I then need to get the values from the texboxes after i click on a button. From what i've read on the internet I have to recreate the same tree of controls on every postback before viewstate loads so i called my control creation method in the OnInit event. The problem is that at that moment i can't retrieve the selected index of the listbox in order to know which and how many textboxes to create. I tried to store the selected index in session but the selected index changed event of the listbox fires up after the OnInit method so I always get the selected index in the previous case. I find very odd that the listbox does not remember its selected index on each postback and that I have to store it in Session because the viewstate loading event occurs after the OnInit one and from what I know it's best to recreate the dynamic controls in the OnInit method. So basically the information I need to create something is available only after that "something" needs to be created. I'm obviously looking at all of these wrong but it's my first asp .net project so...
This is some of the code, please advise:
protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e)
{
if (this.Page.Session["index"] != null)
ListBox1.SelectedIndex = (int)this.Page.Session["index"];
makeCtrls(ListBox1.SelectedIndex + 1);
base.OnInit(e);
}
public void makeCtrls(int n)
{
tbList.Clear();
for (int i = 0; i < n; i++)
{
TextBox t = new TextBox();
t.ID = n.ToString() + i.ToString();
t.EnableViewState = true;
this.Controls.Add(t);
tbList.Add(t);
}
}
protected void ListBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
makeCtrls(ListBox1.SelectedIndex + 1);
this.Page.Session["index"] = ListBox1.SelectedIndex;
}

All literature I see on creating custom handlers deals with associating an extension with a handler, e.g. if I wanted a handler for Ajax requests, I could implement the IHttHandler interface in an AjaxHandler class.
Now, to have individual instances of AjaxHandlers, e.g. DocAjaxHander, PersonAjaxHandler etc. would I derive those from my base AjaxHandler?
