Hi,
I have a list of products, and most of the products has an image. I am writing the results to a table with 2 cells. The image goes in the left cell, and the product name and short description goes in the right cell.
I have the full path of the image, now I want to resize it to smaller size, and then put it in the left cell. I tried Googling it but they resize and image and just display the image back to the browser. I want to put the image in the table's cell.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

So just point it to the cell of your table.

Hi,
What is thre difference between the 2 lines of code? With the first line of code in my master page then the website disappears and displays just white. With the second line of code it displays fine. Here it is:
<script type="text/javascript" src="~/Includes/Javascript/MyJavascript.js" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="~/Includes/Javascript/MyJavascript.js"></script>
I thought the 2 lines are supposed to be the same?
Thanks

hello
how do you setup a Http Proxy?
The reason I'm asking is, I'm trying to use a AJAX/Javascript drag drop component from <a href="http://script.aculo.us/">http://script.aculo.us/</a>[<a href="http://script.aculo.us/" target="_blank" title="New Window">^</a>]
It makes call to for example localhost ShoppingCart.aspx using XMLHttpRequest. Now, while it's good with IE to fetch from say:
var url = 'http://localhost:3323/ASPNET_SERVICE/ShoppingCart.aspx';
For firefox, security prevents this. The get around is therefore:
var url = '/proxy?url=' + encodeURIComponent('http://localhost:3323/ASPNET_SERVICE/Default.aspx');
Now to do this first I need to setup a HttpProxy - but I have never done this before.
I browse around a bit and decided to try Privoxy. It's running now and I've configured both Firefox and IE to use proxy 127.0.0.1 8118 per instruction from <a href="http://www.privoxy.org/user-manual/quickstart.html">http://www.privoxy.org/user-manual/quickstart.html</a>[<a href="http://www.privoxy.org/user-manual/quickstart.html" target="_blank" title="New Window">^</a>]. For IE I also make sure "By-pass proxy server for local addresses" is UN-checked. I then point my browser to say www.msn.com - seems like whether browser always able to retrieve page whether I started (or stopped) the proxy. I expect if I stopped the proxy with IE setting configured to use it, I'd have connection problem of some sort ...
And also in AJAX request shouldn't there be a parameter where you NEED to specify proxy enable/disable and proxy port? Using Prototype (http://www.prototypejs.org/api/ajax/options)
<code>
var myAjax = new Ajax.Request( url, {method: 'get', parameters: pars, onLoading: showLoad, onComplete: showResponse} );
</code>
(Example from: http://www.ajaxlessons.com/2006/02/1...scriptaculous/)
Or using vanilla javascript:
<code>
var url="gethint.asp";
url=url+"?q="+str;
url=url+"&sid="+Math.random();
xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=stateChanged;
xmlhttp.open("GET",url,true);
xmlhttp.send(null);
</code>
The biggest problem I have now is that if I use "/proxy" in my HttpRequest url - i.e.
<code>
var url = '/proxy?url=' + encodeURIComponent('http://localhost/JavascriptAJAXTest/Default.aspx');
// Instead of: var url = 'http://localhost:3323/ASPNET_SERVICE/Default.aspx';
</code>
then I get <b>"HTTP 404 - File not found"</b> - I checked the resource it's definitely there.
<a href="http://localhost/JavascriptAJAXTest/Default.aspx">http://localhost/JavascriptAJAXTest/Default.aspx</a>[<a href="http://localhost/JavascriptAJAXTest/Default.aspx" target="_blank" title="New Window">^</a>]
I checked IIS Log:
<br />
05:29:15 127.0.0.1 - W3SVC1 LAPPC2 127.0.0.1 80 GET /proxy url=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2FJavascriptAJAXTest%2FDefault.aspx?product_id=product_2&rand=0.5694375981715101 404 2 4184 606 16 HTTP/1.0 localhost Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+NT+5.1;+SV1;+.NET+CLR+3.0.04506.648;+.NET+CLR+3.5.21022;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.0.4506.2152;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729) - http:
I then pointed my browser at:
http://localhost/JavascriptAJAXTest/Default.aspx?product_id=product_2&rand=0.5694375981715101
The page is certainly there.
Thanks

<div class="quicksearch">
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td>Cell 1</td>
<td>Cell 2</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
The style for quicksearch is:
.quicksearch{background-color:#dfe8f6;padding:.8em;text-align:center;}
Please can someone help?

Javascript does not have that much of privilege to access client information. You can use ActiveX control for that, but the limitation would be it will run only on IE

Hi guys,
I'm a little to new to SOAP Services but am having an issue trying to access a soap service by a third party vendor using c#.
There service name is 'get-info' but when I import the WSDL into VS2008 it gets rid of the '-' so then service name becomes invalid. I asked them to change it but they said that due to their policies and other contractual restrictions, they won't.
I have got around it with a WebRequest/Response, but really want to get the this working.
Any help would be appreciated.

He is a very shy man!
Do you see the top line of these posts marked "How to get an Answer to your question?"
If so, see the name next to it?
If so, click on it.
That is he!

That message does not contain 'Reply' and 'Email' options appears first. This guy would just click that and his message would go to Chris' mailbox. Chris would be angry with you.

Make sure you write using the correct xml/html syntax (Notice the quotes):
<input type="text" id="t1" onblur="myblur()" />
<input type="button" onclick="myclick()" />
I've tested it and it works.

I have been tasked with maintaining our companies web site while our current web developer is on leave. While most of the tasks are rather easy even with no web development experience, I'm having some trouble with validating the syntax of my code. Due to the nature of the site, the pages have to be checked onto a staging server before they can actually be run. Doing this takes about 10 minutes, which slows things down quite a bit if you, for example, mismatch your parentheses. Are there any sort of syntax checkers out there that can be run on a file to detect gross mistakes like this?
Also, this web site is rather ancient, and the original developer is no longer with the company, leaving both myself and the current web developer at a disadvantage when it comes to determining where things are and how they are laid out. Are there any tools available that can digest a web site and display it's layout? I have encountered large amounts of dead code so far, and with grep being my main tool, simple changes can take a lot longer then they should.

I moved some asp.net code out of a page loaded as an iframe (Calendar.aspx) and put it into the content placeholder that was calling the iframe (WelcomeMain.aspx), effectively moving it one level higher.
When my code was in the iframe, I had access to all the controls from the c# codebehind and it worked just fine.
After I moved the code, I get the following errors:
'WelcomeMain' does not contain a definition for 'MainCal' and no extension method 'MainCal' accepting a first argument of type 'WelcomeMain' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
and
The name 'MainCal' does not exist in the current context
I made sure I have all the same USING statements in WelcomeMain that I had in the iframe.
When I type into the codebehind, intellisense sees that the control MainCal is there and it has the properties and methods I need, but when I build the code, it dies on every reference. It also dies on every reference to all my controls in the codebehind, yet I can see them when I type into the code.
There is one diference that may or may not impact me: WelcomeMain has a master page and the iframe did not.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
