Hi All,
I have implemented the procedure in http://www.codeproject.com/KB/sharepoint/MultiConnectConsumerWP.aspx to connect single consumer to multiple providers but I am not able to find out the way to define the WebPartConnection for connecting my single consumer webpart to multiple provider webpart and if I add multiple connections it takes the values from the last connection and rest doesn't work.
Please feel free to edit in case the question can be asked more appropriately. Please help

I have a web service which is running on IIS 5.1 on an XP pro virtual machine (Virtual PC 6.0.156.0). The web service requires Windows Integrated Authentication. I have another program which queries the service from another XP virtual machine. The client is getting an HTTP 401.5 error which is an authentication error and it is getting it even though the program, which is making requests to the server, is sending along its name and password. If the web service is running on an actual machine instead of a virtual machine, the query works. It doesn't matter if the client is running in a virtual machine or an actual machine.
When I checked the web logs for errors on the virtual machine, I noticed that the cs_username column name is empty (actually, it is "-"). On the actual machine, it has the correct username from the username/password pair.
Has anyone else ran into this problem?
Is it a known problem?
Is there a fix or work-around?
TIA!

As a VM doesn't in theory run any differently, the issue has to be with the configuration of your VM.

I've updated my message. I had left out a critical piece of information:
When I checked the web logs for errors on the virtual machine, I noticed that the cs_username column name is empty (actually, it is "-"). On the actual machine, it has the correct username from the username/password pair.
That IIS doesn't even get the username (and I assume password) leads me to believe that it is more than just a configuration issue. Actually, I would be happy if it were a configuration problem. Other people at my company have tried this without success as well, and if I could get this resolved it would cut down on our development time and costs.

Are client and server both on a domain? How is your security tab setup for the web app in the VM?

Yes. However, the virtual machine client and the actual machine server are on separate domains and they can still communicate with each other.

Anonymous access is not checked
Basic authentication is not checked
Integrated Windows authentication is checked.
I have also updated the original message with additional information about the web logs.
thanks for your time.

Thanks tagyurit and Christian for your input. It is appreciated.
Christian, you were right that the problem was a configuration issue on the VM. In the Local Security Settings under Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options the policy "Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts" was set to "Guest only: Local users authenticate as Guest." but needed to be set to "Classic: Local users authenticate as themselves."
I found this out at the following link: http://community.spiceworks.com/help/Authentication_Workgroup[^]
Again, thanks.

Hi everybody,
I have a CheckboxList on my web form and I have to display which check box have been ticked into List.
the following code is working absolutely fine on IE 8 but not working on IE 6. I tried to change 'if' condition but failed to run same code on IE 6, main problem occurs in 'If' condition.
thanks for any suggestion in adv.
function readListControl() {
var tableBody = document.getElementById('<%=cbsrc.clientId%>;').childNodes[0];
for (var i = 0; i < tableBody.childNodes.length; i++) {
var currentTd = tableBody.childNodes[i].childNodes[0];
var listControl = currentTd.childNodes[0];
if (listControl.checked == true)
alert('#' + i + ': is checked');
}
}

This is bad code. It assumes a certain layout, and doesn't ever check if the object it is grabbing, exists.
When you say it does not work, what is the problem ? Does it work in firefox ? Firebug helps you debug javascript.
There are articles on CP about how to work with checked lists in javascript. Ideally you'd find a way to insert an id into each one so you could look up the elements by id instead of by array indices.

This is easily done in ASP.NET. Given you're not in the ASP.NET forum, I assume you're not using ASP.NET. No-one can really answer you without you telling us what you want to use.

Cristian,
Thanks, I was not certain if this should go under asp.net or web development. I will delete this post and start a new message under the asp.net section.

Anything to do with ASP.NET, goes there. Only because, there's a LOT more traffic there, so you're more likely to be seen there.

The only way to do this, is to have very specific knowledge of the format of a page, and then inject javascript that does what you want. It's not easy to do at all, I'm almost certain it would be beyond you.

No, that's obviously impossible. I'd need to know the HTML first. You need to access the controls either by index, or by name. Then you'd need to write a program that requests the page, injects the javascript, and views it, probably a VB or C# program with a web browser control in it. Or a browser plug in.

I'm new to html programming...and...I need some help.
My friends and I play an internet game and I have agreed to keep a web page with our statistics. I would like to be able to update the html table on my page with data collected in .txt files that they send me.
My question then is how do you load a .txt file into a cell of an html table.
Thanks for your help!

There's no way to answer this question. We have no idea what it is you're doing ( that is, how you want to generate HTML ). If you're just writing HTML, then the answer is, manually. If your file is a csv, you could use search and replace intelligently to save your self some time, but that's about it.
