Hi
I need to upload zip files to an Apache web server from my vc++ application. I need to do that using HTTP and FTP because of some security issues involved. I have tried with CHttpConnectoin class but just can't seem to get it to work. I tried using the PUT method but kept getting HTTP 405 error i.e bad mehod error. That was because the PUT method processing was not enabled on the Apache server. Then is tried using POST i.e. I send the file name to the server , there a java servlet creates an empty file with the same name and returns the URL of the file to my application. Then I try to write to the URL. Can anybody please tell me where I'm going wrong? any help would be appreciated?
Thanks

Without PUT support, FTP protocol is the way to
go for putting files on your server.
You can use CFtpConnection's PutFile method.
Or if you insist on HTTP, you can POST to an
agent (perl script or what-have-you) on the
server via HTTP who'll put the file in place on
your behalf.

Hi,
Consider 2 applications, X and Y. X is ActiveX type. I need to use the X.ocx in Y. Y application maybe Dialog based/Single/Multidoc type. Whenever user type any character
it needs tobe processed in X.ocx.
In X pgm,I have CText class derived from CRichEditCtl where I have added OnChar and OnSelChange functions.
I can add/change/Modify/delete in ocx but nothing in Y application,requirement is just to insert ocx component in Y application.
Can anyone tell me how this canbe possible??
Thanks

I want to make all member methods of a class as inline. Implementations of these methods is in CPP file. When I write inline with the method declaration in .h file, it gives linker error.

Move the definitions of the methosds to your .h file. This is the price you have to pay for having inlining.

You have to write the implementation also in your header (*.h) file.

I wish to print the contents of a CWebBrowser2 control. I use m_htmlview.ExecWB(OLECMDID_PRINT, OLECMDEXECOPT_DONTPROMPTUSER, NULL, NULL); This prints the contents on the default printer.
However I wish to print the contents on a printer other than the default printer. Anyone got any idea how I can do this please? I have changed the default printer to the one I wish to print from, printed to it, and changed the default printer back. I don't think this is a very good way of doing it, so does anyone have any better ideas please?
Thanks

Hi
I want to compile a foreign open source application written in VC++7. But I only have VC++6 (with the latest PlatformSDK). The result is, that the compiler gives me errors like "afxdhtml.h not found" etc. I suppose these headers are new with MFC7.
Where can I get the latest headers from? The PlatformSDK does not seem to have them. Or do I need to purchase VC++7?
thanks in advance

Do you really need what afxdhtml.h provides ?
Try afxhtml.h instead.
And if it doesn't compile, that's because this code is using the CHtmlEditView, which requires MFC7, thus VC7.

I am using the folowing code to add gridlines to a report-Style Listcontrol:
dwExStyle = m_listSpeeds.GetExStyle();<br />
dwExStyle |= LVS_EX_FULLROWSELECT | LVS_EX_GRIDLINES;<br />
m_listSpeeds.SetExtendedStyle(dwExStyle);
For some reason this is adding checkboxes to my control as well as gridlines. Why is this happening and how I can disable this behaviour?

Try changing the first line from
<br />
dwExStyle = m_listSpeeds.GetExStyle();<br />
to
<br />
dwExStyle = m_listSpeeds.GetExtendedStyle();<br />

I developed a dialog based application in MFC. I don't want to distribute MFC dlls with it and so i am linking it statically with MFC.
But when i run my Release exe on Win98 machine with no VC++ installed, i obtained error that msvcp60.dll not found.
Is there any way that there'd be no need to distribute any additional dll with our applications built using VC++/MFC

msvcrt is the C runtime dll, I don't know what msvcp60 is, you should look it up in MSDN, that will tell you why you have the dependancy and you can then check out if it's something you can change.

Yea i tried to search in MSDN but found 4 useless results.

You're right. A Google search left me thinking it is also related to the C run time. Two questions
1. Are you using any C runtime functions ?
2. Why is it such a big deal to need this dll ?

msvcp60.dll has nothing to do with the MFC.
msvcp60.dll is the MS C++ run-time. (for instance, when you use #include <iostream> and stuff like that).
Just xcopy this file.

Good for you! I *hate* apps that have to install a bunch of DLLs, because they usually do it incorrectly.
You need to do a couple things:
1. Make sure MFC is linked statically (it looks like you are doing this)
2. Are you running VC 6.0? If so:
- Go to "Project Settings" for your project(s)
- Go to the C++ tab, and change the combo box to "Code Generation".
- There is a box that says, "Use Runtime Library". It should *NOT* be an option that has "DLL" in the name. Change it to the corresponding option that does not have DLL in its name.
- Make sure you do step 2 for Debug and Release (and any other project configurations you have.)
If you are running VS.NET, the option is still there, but getting to it may be a little different.
Hope this helps.
