I posted the following text into an answer:
The line that says:
<pre>scanf("%i\n",&value);</pre>
Should say:
<pre>scanf("%i",&value);</pre>
However, when I clicked the preview tab, the "\n" was gone and a line break was in its place. It looked fine though after I posted it.

There shouldn't be any descrepancy between the preview and actual view. Will take a closer look at this.

I've tried using the Movie insert feature of the article editor, and it inserts a <movie ...=""> tag but nothing shows up.
I have tried using these two as source:
http://silverlight.services.live.com/invoke/109645/Calcium%20Getting%20Started/iframe.html as an iframe,
and here: http://silverlight.services.live.com/109645/Calcium%20Getting%20Started/video.wmv as a wmv.

Tried moving to Flash and uploaded the video to YouTube.
Source URL for video is incorrectly encoded, and the query parameters are changed.
So that http://www.youtube.com/v/2i9RGyx520M&hl=en_GB&fs=1&
the ampersand are encoded as & etc.
Dialog to insert movie doesn't work in Firefox 3.5.5
In I.e 8 I was able to enter the YouTube Url, however switching back to the source view crashes IE every time subsequently.
Thereafter it was impossible to edit the source in FF and IE with the Movie tag present.
I tried to get around this problem by using TinyUrl.com to create a url that would be compatible. Alas, this didn't work either.
Since CP limits article size, hosting a video that is longer than a minute or so, isn't viable.
I would love to be able to use the IFrame from Silverlight live, as it is ready to go. Rather sad.

Hi Daniel,
We've dedicated a lot of time to trying to make this feature more accessible, but to no avail yet.
There are a couple of things that might work. If you have the .xap for your video, and your own server to upload the file to (where you can change the IIS settings to have the server recognize the file as .xap instead of .zip) you can use the video feature and add your www.sitename.com/filename.xap URL to the video as well as the dimensions
The easier solution is to not embed the video, but have a link to it on another site, which I think is the best way
Thanks,

Thanks Sean. Yes, I ended up linking to the video.
I still think it would be a great feature to have.

Just a suggestion.
It would be neat if I could mark questions I've already reviewed as "read"; that way, I don't see them on the unanswered questions tab anymore. Maybe have a little checkbox (or button) next to each question that says "Read" or "Done Reading" or "Already Reviewed" or "Don't Show" or "Hide". And at the top of the page (or somehow integrated with the tag cloud), have a checkbox to show or hide already reviewed questions.
Oh, and adding a similar feature to other tabs (e.g., latest questions) and pages (e.g., latest articles) would be good too.

Because it is no longer in "unedited" status. Once an editor finishes editing your article, the only way to update it is to email CodeProject the updated copy of your article. You can find instructions on how to update your article here. I find that somewhat cumbersome, but that's how it's done I guess.
FYI, this is not a bug and this forum is the proper one to ask article writing questions.

I hadn't seen the Article Moderation box for quite a while and it got improved a lot with four questions and some more text, making things a lot clearer. (I use AdBlocker to personalize the CP home page).
However here is a suggestion:
why not turn the moderation pane into a form, with yes and no radio buttons on each of the questions, and also including the normal voting stuff, and have it generate a template response with the four questions and the four (or less) answers already pasted in, so the feedback is clearer and the questions checked positively are encouraging all by themselves?

We need a "Test" (or "Testing", or "Unit Testing") forum to talk about various unit testing frameworks and issues.
The "Collaboration/Testing" forum needs to be renamed to "Collaboration/Beta Testing" to more accurately reflect its "testing" orientation.

Hey Chris,
John's original suggestion is a good one too. I think a "Unit testing and related" forum would be nice to have.

I was just doing a diff of some modifications I made to a recent Quick Answer I posted and noticed that it is pretty much useless. If a line has a change, it seems to cross out the entire line on the left and show the non-crossed out new version on the right. The colorization also does not go past the initial viewing window (i.e., when I scroll to the right, there is no colorization). This is basically like having me line up 2 instances of notepad side by side to try and figure out what the diffs are manually.
If you are having trouble using a textarea to display the diff, why not just use a wrapped fixed size structure? Perhaps just an HTML table in which each TD contains a single letter (the left table for the old version and the right table for the new version). That way, you don't have do do anything fancy... you can just give each TD a background color according to its diff (new text, deleted text, modified text, etc.). And if you are worried about bandwidth, you can just transmit the data in a compressed format and parse it into HTML on the client side using some JavaScript.
I realize the textarea with synchronized scrolling is neat and all, but I thought I'd suggest a simple solution to you so you can get something workable up and running.
I'm running IE8 on Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3.
Also, not sure if you care, but the textareas don't sync when using Chrome. And the colorization issues occur on IE8, Chrome, and Firefox.

Our current diff tool only works on a line-by-line basis. We're looking to get char-by-char diffing to replace this. It's on our TODO the list and we'll try to get it out as soon as possible. But to be honest, it's not very high on that list at the moment.

Understandable. If I really want to do a diff, I can just copy the old and new text and paste them into text files, then do a local diff on my computer using WinMerge. That's still not quite perfect though, as I can only get the rendered text, not the HTML, of previous versions. Actually, I could just view the source of the page and get the HTML, but that's even more work and still not the original text that was entered (emoticons, for example, would render to HTML differently than they were entered as text). Anyway, a workable solution exists for now, but I'll be excited to see the char-by-char diff whenever it does come out.

Hi,
Recently I start to find the comments on CP articles appearing in orange; I'm not aware of any change I made to my browser settings, and I can't find any facility to set colors anywhere on CP itself in my "Profile."
For my old eyes, the orange text is hard to read.
Appreciate any suggestions.
thanks, Bill
