I edited your question for you so it now sparkles.
(but seriously: what would make this more intuitive for you? Can you walk me through your perfect scenario?)

Excellent Question. I think what would be ideal for me would be to have the
<pre> tags signal that anything in between should be encoded.
Otherwise you can end up with something like the above, all to get the tag to show up.

No rep from fixing forum postings
If we auto-encode stuff within pre tags then it means you can't use HTML within those tags so you can't highlight or make bold parts of the code.

On clicking on that link in my profile page, I get to see the page stating "No entries found". Although I have posted a couple of times there. Here is one link[^].

Sorry, we haven't implemented the ability to view answers on that page yet. The count you see on your profile page correctly counts both questions and answers but the link redirects you to a view only diplaying your questions. We'll try to get this fixed soon.

FYI, I still can't see a count on my page or d@nish's page.

Can't see any count next to that link.

Just an update... the situation has changed, but still not fixed. Now, the text is "Questions & Answers" and says "0" to the right of it. Although when I click it, it shows the 2 questions I've posted (but still none of the answers).

I noticed that "Minor Change" checkbox (as displayed when modifying an answer) has an ellipsis to the right of it that, when moused over, has a short description of what a minor change is and that, when clicked, links to the section of the FAQ that describes minor changes in more detail. That this ellipsis has any functionality associated with it is not obvious at all. Might want to use a question mark icon instead (or something like that). Or, you could do something like the following:
[ ] Minor Change (<a href="http://www.codeproject.com/script/Answers/FAQ.aspx#minorchanges">info</a>)
When moused over, it would give the same info as the ellipsis currently does in addition to saying something like "Click for more information."

You're right. An ellipsis isn't the best choice there. Thanks for the suggestion!

I posted the following text into an answer:
The line that says:
<pre>scanf("%i\n",&value);</pre>
Should say:
<pre>scanf("%i",&value);</pre>
However, when I clicked the preview tab, the "\n" was gone and a line break was in its place. It looked fine though after I posted it.

There shouldn't be any descrepancy between the preview and actual view. Will take a closer look at this.

I've tried using the Movie insert feature of the article editor, and it inserts a <movie ...=""> tag but nothing shows up.
I have tried using these two as source:
http://silverlight.services.live.com/invoke/109645/Calcium%20Getting%20Started/iframe.html as an iframe,
and here: http://silverlight.services.live.com/109645/Calcium%20Getting%20Started/video.wmv as a wmv.

Tried moving to Flash and uploaded the video to YouTube.
Source URL for video is incorrectly encoded, and the query parameters are changed.
So that http://www.youtube.com/v/2i9RGyx520M&hl=en_GB&fs=1&
the ampersand are encoded as & etc.
Dialog to insert movie doesn't work in Firefox 3.5.5
In I.e 8 I was able to enter the YouTube Url, however switching back to the source view crashes IE every time subsequently.
Thereafter it was impossible to edit the source in FF and IE with the Movie tag present.
I tried to get around this problem by using TinyUrl.com to create a url that would be compatible. Alas, this didn't work either.
Since CP limits article size, hosting a video that is longer than a minute or so, isn't viable.
I would love to be able to use the IFrame from Silverlight live, as it is ready to go. Rather sad.

Hi Daniel,
We've dedicated a lot of time to trying to make this feature more accessible, but to no avail yet.
There are a couple of things that might work. If you have the .xap for your video, and your own server to upload the file to (where you can change the IIS settings to have the server recognize the file as .xap instead of .zip) you can use the video feature and add your www.sitename.com/filename.xap URL to the video as well as the dimensions
The easier solution is to not embed the video, but have a link to it on another site, which I think is the best way
Thanks,

Thanks Sean. Yes, I ended up linking to the video.
I still think it would be a great feature to have.

Just a suggestion.
It would be neat if I could mark questions I've already reviewed as "read"; that way, I don't see them on the unanswered questions tab anymore. Maybe have a little checkbox (or button) next to each question that says "Read" or "Done Reading" or "Already Reviewed" or "Don't Show" or "Hide". And at the top of the page (or somehow integrated with the tag cloud), have a checkbox to show or hide already reviewed questions.
Oh, and adding a similar feature to other tabs (e.g., latest questions) and pages (e.g., latest articles) would be good too.
Visual Studio is an excellent GUIIDE.

Because it is no longer in "unedited" status. Once an editor finishes editing your article, the only way to update it is to email CodeProject the updated copy of your article. You can find instructions on how to update your article here. I find that somewhat cumbersome, but that's how it's done I guess.
FYI, this is not a bug and this forum is the proper one to ask article writing questions.
