You need to keep the time value safe.
This can be done as
1. Keep the hidden TextBox(Style="display:none") on the web page
2. Save the initial value of exam in the text box
3. For your timer control, fetch the timer value from this text box, subtract the value, display it to user and save the reduced value back in the text box.
4. When user clicks on the next button, fetch the value from the text box, pass it to the next page, save it in Hidden text box and start the timer from value in text box.
I think this will help you.

Is this your home assignment ?
You should not ask like this. If you want to learn you have to comes up with some idea, on which you want to develop. You should ask for suggestion rather than asking complete project.

Remove the server script <%Response.Redirect("https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr")%> from the code. Just have <form action="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> . It should work.

no it doesnt work until i use resonse.redirect.....

Putting response.redirect on the form would redirect the page even before the rendering is complete!
BTW, I missed a couple of things when posting last time! Sorry.
Here is your solution -
* Remove the Response.Redirect from the Form.
* Form action would be invoked only when a submit button is clicked. So, no use setting action for your case.
* Surround your image with a hyperlink tag like below -
<a href="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr"><input type="image" src="http://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-but01.gif" name="submit" alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!" /></a>

What happens when you do the changes that I've suggested?
|
|
|

at localhost when i run it i get the following error...
Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.
while running online it the page just get postback without showing any error.

Can you post the update code as well, so that I check if it is missing anything?

<form id="payForm" action="" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick" />
<input type="hidden" name="bussiness" value="xyz@xyz.com" />
<input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Tanzanite" />
<input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD" />
<a href="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr">
<input type="hidden" name="amount" value="100.00" />
<input type="image" src="http://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-but01.gif" name="submit" alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!" />
</a>
</form>
either i give the url in form action or not it makes no sense....
|
|
|
|
|
<form id="payForm" action="" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick" />
<input type="hidden" name="bussiness" value="xyz@xyz.com" />
<input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Tanzanite" />
<input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD" />
<input type="hidden" name="amount" value="100.00" />
<a href="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr">
<img border="0" src="http://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-but01.gif"
alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!" />
</a>

Assuming you get the values from some data source on the server, just put the values from the server side code.

Hi,
How will show the custom message in validation summary Validator
Is it possible?
|
|
|
|
|
You need to set the validation messages for the custom validator control and validate the control. Validation summary control will poll all the validation controls for status and display the messages for all the controls with status invalid.

I want to access the methods of a dll that is not managed. Seems to be
vb6 from my best guess and what I know about the program. That part I
have managed to figure out. If I drag the x.dll to my bin folder, the
interpreter wrapper is created, etc. I can access the methods in the
dll just fine. The problem is the database connection.
For informational purposes: The dll is compiled for a vbscript .asp
website. There are a few methods in the dll that just manipulate the
input, but most make a db call to get or set or update, etc. data in
the db. The dll expects an ADODB connection. The asp files are setup
such as:
------------------------------------
set DllObj = server.CreateObject("dll.class")
set connect = server.createobject("ADODB.Connection")
connect.open "SystemDSNName","user","password"
'call to method in dll here
value = DllObj.method(data1, data2)
connect.close
------------------------------------ It is using a DSN but just as easily could be a DSN-Less connection.
My problem is that the dll expects the connection to be open and
available to it. Can I make a ADODB database connection available and
open for this dll in a vb.net asp.net website. Basically, I need to
use the business logic and db data changes through this dll, but want
to make the front end in asp.net. Anybody willing to provide a
detailed example of how to do this in VB and VS 2008, .net 3.51, on a
Windows server 2008 R2 with IIS7?
Thanks!

Hey guys,
I've got a datagrid that needs to be accessible i.e. A user should be able to tab into the rows of that datagrid one at a time. Right now the tab order works for every single link on the page (including the columns of datagrid which happened to be links) but not the rows which have a few clickable links in them (in other words a user can click on those colums and they need to work with tabs alss)
Is there an easy way to fix that?
Can someone please help!

Something is null. Debug and check. I guess it should be selected row.

Hi D@nish,
I checked it, nothing is null...don't know what the problem is here
|
|
|
|
|
Like d@nish is saying.
verify if you have a selected row.
if (gvColumns.SelectedRow.Count > 0)
{
lblErrorImport.Text = gvColumns.SelectedRow.Cells[1].Text;
}
