From the view point of a typical consumer, Windows 8 is likely better: it changes any computer into some kind of smart phone, and that's what the consumer is intersted in: his computer behaves now like his phone.
For professional computer users, Windows 8 is ...

Indeed. The write-up for Kodu reminds me of this[^]. Note the name of the programmer.

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Its easy for a c++ developer to work with c# but can we say the same but in reverse?

If I'm understanding correctly his problem is that he didn't specify versions for some components in his config file and got upset because the no version supplied default is the newest version installed which changed when he installed a newer version of the component.

In Q4 2013, the number of Apple devices sold exceeded the number of Windows PCs sold around the world. I'm sure the number of pens outsold Windows PCs as well, but I'm not going to run my business with just them either.

Hi,
There are approximately 1.5 - 2.0 billion personal computers in the world and the numbers are still increasing. Compare this to an estimated 170M iPads and 330 million iPhones. I believe the Android estimate is somewhere around 700 million.
The total number of cell phones sold in the world to date actually out number the current world population. My prediction is that within the next 20 years.. most of the worlds population will have access to a personal computer AND a smart mobile device/tablet.
The PC is here to stay at least for the next generation. Perhaps longer.
Best Wishes,
-David Delaune

OEMs have responded to the PC sales crisis in a variety of ways. We've seen them try to embrace Android, we've seen them betting the farm on different form factors, and we've seen they try to outgun Apple's iPad. But none of it seems to be working. The ball is now in Microsoft's court. "This is our most desperate hour."

The Internet of Things is coming! But just how do you prepare for it? IBM is betting that developers will approach the Internet of Things like engineers, and has thus created Node-RED, a simple point-and-click development interface designed for supporting the development of applications that require functionality or input from physical devices.
Sometimes I feel like it should be called the Internet of Stupid...

Every time I hear this phrase it makes my blood boil, even more so than "cloud".
What a crap name.
I mean really, there is no real need for everything to be connected to the internet. I also don't understand that whenever they talk about it it is always "wifi this" and "wifi that", has ethernet stopped existing or something?

When you think about it, it’s odd that wearable tech makers are so obsessed with wristbands. Most wearable tech products currently focus on fitness, and the most popular cardio exercises–biking, running, swimming–are powered by the lower body. I find it surprising that these are the first people that realized wristbands aren't the best way to track fitness.
