Unlikely - most spam-bait questions tend to be posted within a couple of days of the account being created. That user's been here almost two years.

Not just any Reddit links - links to live-streaming spam on Reddit.

Wait. Did you check them out or can you somehow tell by looking at the URL?
I have been wondering about the tool that posts those "links". They are un-clickable and I cannot tell what they are supposed to lead me to. In any case, it is clearly spam.

I checked them before and found that.
I stated:
"The spammers are getting smarter. NOT!" (Or something to that effect)
at the end of the message.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

I loaded one of the links up in Fiddler and looked the response.

This poster: [^] simply copy/pasted the code here: [^].
Note that the poster still managed to screw up what they pasted=in, so the code wouldn't work.
I reported this as abuse, but I am not really sure that was the right thing to do.
Thoughts ?
thanks, Bill

I'd call it plagiarism, and thus abuse - IMHO you made the right call!

I think something went wrong with your links.
The "poster" points to a question (where I can't see anything out of normal)
The "here" link points to a possible source of plagiarism.

It's spam - and he has spam messages as well: but DON'T CLICK ON THE TOP ONE!
It doesn't take you to the CP page, but to the spammers site instead (I've posted a note in Sugs'n'Bugs)
