Patience is a good thing to have...
As you can notice from different bug post around you, yesterday CP got an upgrade that - as a side effect - created some problems...A few of us forced to reconfirm their email in an endless loop, other was unable to set properties in their profile - and you was unable to accept the policy...
If you still around I invite you to share your knowledge with us how to handle a dynamically changing site with over 10 million members...From my personal experience Chris and the stuff are keen to learn and make CP better...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Hello dear codeproject community,
Unfortunately, yesterday evening 07/19/2015 my original codeproject account has been abused and deactivated. Do you know if it's possible to re-activate it? I can remove all abusive content after being enabled. I've published several articles and tips, the reputation was more than 50K. I'd much appreciate any help in this matter.

Thanks for your help!

We've all had days where someone or something on the internet gets the better of us, and we react negatively and passionately. It happens. I can appreciate that.
In this case, however, it wasn't a single comment, it was several. Enough that I couldn't say with confidence you would not breach the Terms of Service again.
Thanks,
Sean Ewington

Yes, those comments can be removed from the topics, it was just a moment of agony, sorry. What's gonna happen with content that I've created? are you going to remove it? the articles and other tips, or someone else is going to take it?
Thanks,
Sem

We could remove it, if you would like. Or we can leave it up, if you would like. It is up to you.
Thanks,

I'm really sorry about that accident. You can keep the articles, this was done not in purpose of reputation, but just when I had time and inspiration (articles writting).
All the comments, which were added on 07/19/2015 by Sem.Shekhovtsov can be removed, that are offensive.
Kind regards,
Sem

The codeproject is really good resource, and I didn't have issue with it never before. That person just down voted my response without reason, so I was angry and published some comments, but I can remove all of that if it's possible somehow.
Thanks,
Sem

We can remove them. Most of them are removed already, I think.

Other question, if I open another account is it possible to link somehow my old account with the new one? Or I'm completely banned?

Completely banned, I'm afraid.

Do you know, in legislation of most modern countries for a person, who did a crime can be applied "release on bail" procedure, this means suspect can pay money for court to get out of the prison, is it applicable for codeproject?

Sean Ewington wrote: Completely banned, I'm afraid. The penalty for being abusive look hard.
Knowing the ease to create a new account, something more progressive than a definitive ban would be nice.
What about a penalty which double every time someone is abusive ?
The penalty can be on reputation or temporary ban. and when reputation is negative, the ban is definitive.

You don't think that it's odd in the slightest that the abusive account holder had at least 6 sock puppet accounts waiting in the wings ready to go? What sort of "penalty" would discourage that?
You can lead a developer to CodeProject, but you can't make them think.

My note was for "serious" members that became abusers by "accident" once in a harsh discussion.
Definitive ban don't solve the problem of abusers, it just displace the problem. The only impact is on "serious" members that have to change their nick name and loose ownership of their articles.

I am trying to download some sample files from an article.
When I press the download link, it redirects me to the terms and conditions. I accept them, then get re-directed back to the article. If I try downloading again, the same thing happens, over and over.
EDIT: It now works. I suppose there may have been a long delay for the update.

I'm getting the exact same thing, on Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

I have tried multiple browsers: Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 11

This afternoon, I started getting the "your email address needs to be confirmed" message. I clicked on the link, received the email, and clicked on the confirmation link in the message. I got the "success" page, but I'm still seeing the "your email address needs to be confirmed" message.

Did the confirmation not get recorded, or is this another caching issue?

Same here. I actually can't use the insider news forum because it keeps telling me I need to confirm my email. done, twice already.

Ditto; started with the random error that my message was already posted, then I got this warning.
Confirmed the email and all appears to work again.

Not for me - I've re-confirmed three times, and it still tells me I need to confirm.
