(just me thinking..)
How is this Score calculated?
2 votes: a 5 and a 1 gives Score:4.2
a 5 and a 4 gives Score:4.8 I have seen.
so it is obviously something else than an average. But what?

Chris,
with the CPP projects imminently about to swamp out a section for articles, how about creating a section specifically for the group projects to be housed in. A "Group Projects" under general on the front page would be nice.
This will keep all the CPP projects together in one easily referencable location without polluting an existing article sub-section.

It would be nice to have a link to open up a new window with a "printable view" of the articles. With all the side menus and such a lot of times the text gets pushed to the right and off the page when printing articles.
Another window with nothing but the article text for printing would be great.

It's already there. Look for Print Version in the toolbox on the left near the top of the page.

I think that an advanced C++ forum would be nice to be able to discuss topics a little more in-depth, rather than rehashing the same WM_CTLCOLOR message handers over and over. This would provide a place for people to discuss server programming issues, driver development issues, performance computing, etc... and generally be a more intellectually stimulating forum.
Also, the ability to attach code files to a post would be very handy and also eliminate the slow load times when someone pastes in 50+ lines of code.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just type:
:property: for a property icon
:method: for a method icon
:class: for a class icon
...etc? That's how I have things in MS Word, and it's sooo convenient.

Both!
I should send them to webmaster at codeproject dot com, right?

Hi Chris,
since a few days, the date information in the RSS feed is broken, it seems as day and month are permuted... At least SharpReader shows the wrong date

We have http://www.codeproject.com/java/[^], but outside of that, there really isn't any support for this language on this site.
I realize that this is primarily a "Microsoft technologies site." However, there just isn't another place on the net with the look and feel and great people like CP. Any chance of adding a message board just for this language?
You could even have it be a Javascript/Java/Perl/Other languages forum. This would sort of down play the fact that Java exists. I work in several languages and Java is one of them. Even if it isn't the majority of the site, I think having it as part of the site is a benifit to the CP community. It does add to the crowd of people that can use this site.

I agree. I don't use Java or Perl et al much, but the support community here *is great* after all - i support that suggestion

Yes. I agree with you there...
Perhaps an "Other Languages" forum would be a good idea.

Like most people, i use the CodeProject forums to store all my important data (CC#s, passwords, Corey Feldman's phone #) encoded within seemingly pointless rants and comments. I depend on the reliability of these forums, and of the search feature, to give me accesses to this data, and truely appreciate the service provided by this site.
Sadly, it seems i am no longer able to load older posts, as retrieving them takes too long and ISA server times out before the page loads. For instance:
this post won't load.
I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done about this, but...

Chris, let me know if you have any objections to this layout for Code Project Projects.
I envision a series of articles listed under "Miscellaneous Libraries and Projects"/"Code Projects" with each article containing specific information about different areas of the project.
1) Main Page containing the project Abstract as the article text plus any critical documents.
2) Project Management where team membership is handled and tasks are assigned.
3) Source Management where the code is stored.
4) Project Design where the ideas/enhancements are discussed and where the design documentation resides.
5) Project Diary containing project goals, milestones, timelines, etc. and open discussions.
So it will basically be like a 5 part article with reference links to each part.
I'm going to try to throw together a template that will be used as well.
Again, let me know if I'm way off base or if I'm stepping on toes, etc.
