I agree too...I have to catch up on all the existing threads though.
It also sounds like there should be some form of a live chat or place to hash out ideas publically..would CP mind us using the message boards to do this?

Yes, we are allowed to use this message bord for these things. So if you feel for it just start a new thread and lets see if we can activate people a little. We can use the voting system here for decision-making.

We're looking for feedback on our new Tools web site. Have a look and let me know if the creative types did a good job, or if it is confusing...thanks.

This is yet another example of what happens when you let art and drama majors play with flash. (here's a similar site[^]) If you paid anyone anything to create this site, I'd demand your money back.
What's with all the pinging bubbles? Are you selling a "Lightning Development Suite" for iMac users and "creative types" or are you targeting real developers?
If you want to impress, you do it all over in ASP.NET and get rid of the bloody PDF's! Your text is non-interactive and heaven forbid if you don't have a mouse!!!
Oh and did I mention the bubbles? It's like they got their inspiration from the "raindrops" after-dark screen saver on their mac's some years ago.
Your BACK || bubble thing is also broken on your Webology Tools> Overview Flash "Page" thingy.
and when moving my mouse over the word "Overview" there, my cursor can't decide if it wants to be a pointer or a hand
*goes to "corporate solutions" *
AHHHH!!!!! STOP THE "e"(s) They're coming out of the screen AND the mouse cursor! I hope you're products don't leak memory like the flash page thingys leak those "e"(s) all over the place!
Ok, I can't take any more. I'm done.
Final word: Let the "creative types" stick to designing bubble-gum websites for "creative" things, not for technical stuff. It tells me that you had to supply a lot of busy fluff to make up for a lack of substance.
Then again, that's just my opinion, maybe some others will like it...

On the ltpb page, don't resize the graphic at the top. It looks pretty funny when stretched to 1600x1200. Clean up your icons and use anti-aliasing for your edges and corners. Still some bugs with the forums.

You fixed the resizing icons! (finally)
You got rid of the Happy New Year message! (finally)
Get the text off the horizontal line and graphics like on this[^] page.
Again, anti-aliasing is your friend.

Lose most of the flash -- way too slow -- it reflects poorly on you.... If it was slick and fast, I'd consider hiring you.
Frankly, all it shows right now is bad design and poor UI.
I hate to wait when I am working.
I kept looking for a link that would let me see it without flash.

No, not at all. Seems that the concensus is to lose flash and use html. That was my original recommendation when the site was being designed.
onwards and upwards...

No serious business website should ever require a plug-in (flash).
Under any circumstances!!!!!!
If it does then your designers don't know anything about making a serious business web site and should stick to personal home pages etc etc.

It seems that I and at least a few other people are slightly disappointed that UGLY has ended up excluding the .NEW Framework. If anyone is interested in participating in a similar .NET focused project (we could call it CUTE: .net Components for graphical User inTErfaces). Let me know and I will appraoch Chris accordingly.
I realise that currently the end user market is fairly limited (compared to Win32) for .NET components, but it will grow, especially with more and more good UI components to play with.
It would also unify developers using different languages (thus preventing the VB/C++/C# debate) without having to support multiple code-bases. The source lanaguage doesn't matter as long as it's managed (CLR-compliant). And after all, the Code Project is "Your Visual Studio .NET Homepage"

I assume you mean .NET. Haven't heard of .NEW

Well, we're doing some re-considering. Things are up in the air right now as what language(s) we'll use, but it may include C#.

Let me know what the outcome is. I would be interested in joining in if it includes C#.

Perhaps someone is already working on this. If so, I would like to know if it is anywhere near completion. If not, I'd like to start working on this. I have heard a lot of complaints from the MFC community that this is the most missed feature. Seeing that MS has put off any major MFC enhancements until VS.NET 8 it may be worth the time and effort. Also, it is unclear if MS will even recreate the ClassWizard at that point. MVPs who attended the recent Summit were given info on the coming features but are bound by their non-disclosure agreement.
Please reply if you'd like to collaborate on this project.

I've had problems signing up but I've finally received the confirmation email about being added to the CPDTSC list but I've yet to see any activity on the list in 5 days.
I've even sent an email to the list but I get it rejected.
Could someone send a test message to the CPDTSC list so I can make sure that I'm receiving the emails.

I got an e-mail from you in the list.

Tons of activity. Quiets down on the weekends, but on the weekdays I get 20+ emails a day. There's probably close to 250 messages by now.

I have posted 2 (of 4) pages for each project now. The main page, and project management. Roger and Marc, you will need to follow Anders' lead on how he's handling things. Good job by the way, Anders.
-1-
Chris has the mailing lists setup so you should respond to all volunteers with an email telling them how to subscribe.
-2-
Fill in the team members/structure on the project mgmt page like Anders has.
-3-
Don't let the inmates run the assylum. Be assertive, but calm in your responses to the team.
--------------
I will try to get the other 2 pages for each article up by tomorrow. If not by then, it will at least be this weekend.
Also, I will be offline from 1:30 PM central time, until Saturday afternoon or evening (central time). So if there is something you need, contact me before then.
