- On Mac/Chrome, if I go slowly from a menu to the items, the menu disappears. I need to move fast enough to make the precision lose some pixels... which is becoming harder with more high resolution mouses etc;
- There's a warning that I have a message.. but when I click on it, I see a page saying: No new messages. (or notifications... I don't care about the word)

About 2) (just solved it )
Hover on the 'red 1' and wait the tooltip come alive. Hover over the notification massage (about email confirmation). It is a link that will take you to the confirmation page...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Hello Everyone,
Today, I've logged into my CodeProject's account and noticed that I've received a notification message asking me to confirm my e-mail address. At last, I've confirmed my e-mail multiple times, but the notification message is still displayed at the top of my account page when I'm logged in.
My questions are: Has my e-mail address already been confirmed ?
And also will the notification message no longer be displayed when I'm logged in ?

+1 with that (I still see the red notification even I already confirmed it)
M.D.V.
If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Me too have a red one states 'Your email needs to be confirmed', but no email or other link to actually do the confirmation...

+1 here.
The notification never goes away. Clicking the link does take you to the SendConfirmRequest.aspx page and does send an email. Clicking the verification link in the email works as expected except the notification never leaves the notifications screen or the little red number at the top of the page.

We've had to do some reworking due to CASL requirements. Looks like I (and one of the unit tests) missed something. I'll get it sorted later today.

Looks like you've confirmed your address today. If you open a new browser window do you still see the message?

I did. I was still seeing the message long after.
Now it's been replaced by the "It's a CASL thing". That worked as expected and unexpected notifications are no longer showing up.
Thanks!

I am having the same issue, Chris. The message doesn't go away for me, even if I save my email settings multiple times. I will try again in the morning.

Thanks a lot for your replies. The notification message is no longer displayed.

Now the notification changed its text and became a link to assure Canadian government of our insanity of trusting CP - all good

We're going to remove that for non-Canadians. We're being overly paranoid.

It lasted one week from the day I submitted my 'Tips & Tricks'. Something went wrong at codeproject
and the @Tips & Tricks' disappears.
There is the correct version somewhere in the DB but the version available is only a very early version.
Errors can happen. It is normal. What is VERY ANNOYING is that CODEPROJECT DOES NOT CARE AT ALL about the problems they create!

Hang around a bit and you may find we actually do care about our members and the content they share. A lot.
If you give me a little more info I can dig in and take a look. The title? Some text that was in the article? Something?

Hi Chris
Sean Ewington sent me this link:
https://www.codeproject.com/script/Articles/ArticleVersion.aspx?aid=1194456&av=4430919
and this is the correct 'Tips & Tricks', but if I try to edit it I get back a different version (a very early version)
If I try to access the 'Tips & Trikcs' from my account I get another early version.
Last week I wrote the article, saved many times, got the preview, got the DRAFT version, submitted and got the version in the 'Pending' status
then my 'tips & tricks' disappears
Hope helps

Yes
It is
(I tried to edit it, but the editable version is totally different)

Seeing the effort Chris and Sean put-in to restore your lost tip I would say an apology required...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I recognize the effort made by Chris and Sean and I wish to thank them.
But one consideration must be done:
Do they work for codeproject?
if not, then MANY THANKS TO THEM and they deserve mine apologizes not because of the fixing, instead because I did not recognize the effort they made!
if yes they did their job, but it takes one week and many complaints to get the bug fixed, in that case, I believe, apologies should come from codeproject.
(I was silent only because I believe they are codeprojec's workers, and I choose not to be polemic)

It is always a good start for my week to see comments from a low-life...
Both your complains were addressed and handled within less then a day (and that includes a 7 hour time-zone difference), but you still think that statements like 'CODEPROJECT DOES NOT CARE AT ALL' are totally justified...
I hope your boss/customers threat you just like that...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.
