.NET CF upgrade/patch strategy?

Had the same problem! It's because C Run-Time libraries are linked before MFC libraries.

anyone know how the upgrade/patch process will work for .net cf on wm2003 ppc's? will it require an entire ROM upgrade (most likely through the oem's... Frown | :(

or will the upgraded classes reside in RAM similiar to how .net cf is implemented on ppc2002's today?

Hi,

I am facing a very strange problem. I can't find a way to use dll/activeX with my emulator.

I have searched the whole forum and tried all possible solutions to similar problems but nothing works.

When using control manager I get a message saying 'can't find suitable control manager server' or something.

When trying to use regsvrce, it is nowhere to be found on my emulator.

When trying to load a .dll through my eVB, I run the emulator and get a message saying that pvbdecl.dll can't be found.

What is wrong with my software????

Hey all

I've got this problem: I just installed eVC++4.0 and SP2, then I installed the Pocket PC 2003 SDK, and to test I opened eVC++ and made a blank window app with AppWiz. I tried to compile it, but it gives the error:

cannot open include file 'aygshell.h'.

I haven't changed the include paths or anything, it is still a default install, so I thought it should work

But I have another question: I've tried the PocketPC 2003 emulator, and I wanted to try running an application on it that I had downloaded for the ARM processor, but when I try running any program on it, it says 'incompatible processor'. When I check the settings of the Pocket PC in the emulator and tap About, it says (correctly) processor type AMD Athlon. But what is the use of an emulator if I can't run Pocket PC apps on it? Confused | :confused:

The processor used for the emulator is still the processor from your computer! So, it's normal you cannot run a compiled application for pocket PC on your computer.
The use of the emulator is to test your source code: you have to compile it in a certain way so it can be understood by your computer.

I see that you've got a jump on this PPC programming once the Axim arrived. Big Grin | :-D

I was exactly like that.. I think within 30mins of the box being opened and ActiveSync being installed, i had the eVT3 exe being downloaded.

Are you writing your code for use in .NET or just plain ole WinCE? My Toshiba doesn't come with .NET CF pre-installed and I'm scared to whether I should install it or not; I don't want to mess with 'my preciousssss' Big Grin | :-D

The emulator can only run x86 (or x86em) compiled WinCE code.

Anyway, the answer is yes, I'll be using plain WinCE. I'll wait till .NET CF comes standard with the OS first. I'm the same, I also don't want to mess my PPC up Big Grin | :-D

I'm really enjoying programming with eVC++ - I think it's a geekish novelty value, seeing my creations run on that small mobile device Smile | :)

My form must load and the first field must be focused upon. I can do this just fine.

However, I'm working on a project where the user has a bar-code reader sleeve on his iPaq. This simply acts like a SIP and saves him time entering data, it reads it in for him.

This scanner software shows a quick popup message upon the first scan, all subsequent scans are normal with no popups.

When this popup occurs it takes the focus off of my form and the form field I want focused.

How do I force the form to stay on top regardless of any other programs that decide to run/popup?

I've tried the LostFocus event, can't seem to get it to do anything (calling this.Focus() or formField.Focus())

I have a database made up of records that contain two properties, an unsigned int and a string. I want to search the database by the int, without knowing the word. Therefore, I cannot seek by CEOID.
However, I am having problems seeking my database by a PROPID. If I specify in CESeekDatabase that I am seeking for the first equal value, then specify that I am searching by the sorted property CEVT_UI2, the unsigned int value, then there is no parameter left to specify the value I am searching for. How should I search this database for just one property of the records?
I'm developing for Windows CE 3.0, using Embedded Visual C++. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I just Tried with the FTP session for my project using Embeddded VisualC++ 3.0.
After using InternetOpen, InternetConnect Api's, I just procedded with the FtpSetCurrentDirectory, FtpFindFirstFile. But when compiled I get the error 'FtpSetCurrentDirectory' : undeclared identifier.
I have used those as below
FtpSetCurrentDirectory(ftpsession, directory );
FtpFindFirstFile(ftpsession, TEXT("*.*"),&file_data,NULL,NULL);

I have also included the Wininet.h, wininet.lib for the x86 Processor & using the HandHeldPC Emulator.Can any one tell me how to solve this problem.

Its very urgent.

I have a project that upgrade from CE3.0(using eVC3.0) to
CE.NET 4.1/4.2(unsing evc4.0sp2).
How to upgrade those c++ source code?
I only have a method that creating new project and copy orginal code,and then recompile it.

Does anyone have more easy method?

Hi all!
Let me explain my problem: I need my application to be closed 'completely'. I achieve this by removing the 'smart minimize' button and replace it by the OK button (I tried to remove all two but it doesn't work).
So, that works fine but now I want to know when the user clicked on this button (so I can ask him if he wants to leave without saving or stay in the program). How can I do this?

Another solution would be also to remove completely the 'smart minimize' and the Ok button (I've another exit button on my toolbar).

Any idea?

Have you tried the following code to remove both buttons (the OK and the minimize button)?
