Pretty sure they had the source publicly accessible, but without an OSS compatible license or any mechanism to submit changes.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I like this bit, to Stallman:

An analysis by Google researchers reveals how the company's engineers manage code coverage across one billion lines of code A really, really, really big blanket?
Or is it more of a onesie situation?

While computers have become smaller and more powerful and supercomputers and parallel computing have become the standard, we are about to hit a wall in energy and miniaturization. "Gee Brain, what are we gonna do tonight?"
Also interesting for the factino that the human brain uses 20W. That explains why my 5W USB power cord isn't cutting it today.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

Today, we’re announcing .NET Core 3.0 Release Candidate 1. Just like with Preview 9, we’ve focused on polishing .NET Core 3.0 for a final release. We are now getting very, very close. We intend to release the final version on September 23 at .NET Conf. I'm sure they'll fix all the bugs you find by next week

Microsoft has acknowledged another problem in Windows 10 version 1903 where user's are reporting that their network adapters suddenly stop working after installing a cumulative update. Don't worry - it will be fixed in the previous patch
And then the next one, then borked again with the next one, then fixed (breaking something else). Yay, team.

O! Grand Day! They borked the network adapters so you'll NEVER get updates again!
Woooohoooo!

Ouch.
I guess no one in Redmond thinks about testing with Intel and Broadcom chipsets? (they're so rare after all ) Kind of makes downloading the fix a little more difficult.

This is an MSI which is the top-rated brand for gaming laptops in every survey I have seen and they have Intel NICs in them. I know you were being sarcastic but it is not at all a rare one. This is my personal machine but at my company, ALL of the laptops are MSI. This makes it all the more annoying.
FWIW, they are called a gaming laptops because they have pretty good GPUs in them. We use them for running Solidworks and other SW like that. I use it for OpenGL and CUDA programming and it is very good for those.

Once again, odds are that Windows 10 started enforcing something it hadn't before and the lousy drivers got caught up in it. (Intel makes great hardware, but their drivers tend to suck.)

While I’m thinking about it I thought it would be interesting to explain some of the finalization implementation details so that’s what I’ll do in this blog entry. Sometimes, you just need to know how the plumbing is put together
