Do you know how data files can be uploaded to the PocketPC and Windows CE .NET?

Is it possible to create an ethernet connection between the host PC and the Windows CE emulator (or simply to create lan)?

Any information about using these emulator is appreciated. Thank you!

You can map a drive to a network share on the host PC from within the emulator; just open File Explorer on the emulated device and map it from there.

Hello!

I'm new to PocketPC development so this question might have been asked by someone else Smile | :)

.

I use Microsoft Embedded VC++ for development. When i have created a project and wants to build it, i can only build it directly to my PocketPC. Whenever i choose "PocketPC 2002 Emulation", my computer bluescreens and reboots. There is not enough time before the reboot for reading the bluescreen content.

Any ideas?

How much RAM do you have? What is your OS?

I have a Pentium 4 1600 MHz. 256MB ram. OS is XP.

Try getting more RAM. At 512 MB, the emulator never crashed on my laptop (Win 2K). Also, you can try reinstalling the 2002 SDK. If everything fails (a very decent probability), consider buying a real device. I did that...

Thanks! I've got a real device. I just thought that it would be quicker to emulate than to develop on the "real thing". Programs created and downloaded to the PocketPC i've got works just fine Smile | :)

Hello, I have created a Visual C# Mobile Web Application with VS.NET. In it, there is a simple mobile web form. When i try to view it in the MME Emulator, it says "No wap gateway setting or wap gateway can't be used".

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

Setting break point on Shared memory location

Dear Friends,

Does anybody know how to set break point on a shared
memory location using Embedded VC++ 4.0 debugger.

I have a dll[C language] that allocates and uses shared
memory. I want to set break point on some memory locations
of allocated shared memory.

When set memory break point in debugger currently it is
not functioning. Execution stops there and i can not
proceed further except closing Debugger.

Hello, I am working with Microsoft embedded Visual c++. If I include afx.h in the dll code when I run the main program it fails at the begining, in the code generated by the appwizard. Does somebody know the solution? or it is not allowed including afx.h in a dll?

Do you mean you want the position of your client window inside the parent window?

RECT rtClient;
// Get the position of the client in screen coordinates
GetWindowRect(hClientWnd, &rtClient);
// Converts the screen coordinates to client coordinates
ScreenToClient(hClientWnd, (LPPOINT) &rtClient.left);
ScreenToClient(hClientWnd, (LPPOINT) &rtClient.right);

You understanding is correct but the code block which you have given
will give only wrt to screen point.

But i want wrt to parent window RECT of hClientWnd. It should proper
values (-ve values) if scrolled [partially visible]

Something like how GetRectInContainer() gives in OCX wrt to IE

But the ScreenToClient method will convert the screen coordinates to client coordinates!

Vectors in windows CE

Okay, I finally found enough time to try coding for these pocket pc devices. But I'm a "lazy" coder and I want to do things the easy way. Meaning that I use all the ready standard components found. So of course I want to user vectors to hold data, but what - I can't find them WTF | :WTF:

So there are no vectors in CE, or am I wrong here (I hope so). So the question is, what is the thing to use, when you would normally use vectors?

There are also some container classes inside the MFC (also in the CE version).
Just take a look at the following classes: CArray, CList, CTypedPtrArray, ...

How can i unload a form from memory in eVB. "Unload Me" is giving me error.

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
