Would it be possible to include the article rating, article number of votes and article number of views, to the article list that displays the most recently submitted articles. Maybe even the number of comments, too. Most of the time, these are new articles, so the numbers would be small to start with, but as the day progresses, these numbers would begin to take on significance. This would be especially helpful for updates, though.
Thanks for hearing me out.

CodeProject (in the last few months and getting worse as time goes by) is painfully slow to the point of unusability on a regular basis.
Not a connectivity problem at this end (I've checked), just overwhelmed at that end I guess.
I suspect it's the database server judging by where the slowdowns occur.
Is it possible that the current database and queries are not fully optimal or is it a hardware issue?
Can we donate to a hardware upgrade fund or something?
(I've gone through the suggestions here and didn't see anything similar, perhaps I'm the only one seeing this slowdown problem, but if not, seems that it's more pressing than just about any other new feature.)

I think it would be cool if there was a forum where we could post invitations to other CPians to play multiplayer games with us, or to organise Internet games... Not sure how the rest feel on this, but I'd appreciate it

I think this site is good
But it would be better if a How-to-write-a-driver forum exists, in my opinion.
Do you think so?

How hard would this be?
When a message is deleted, and it has one or more replies, replace it with an empty/unviewable message.
This would reduce confusion when viewing a suddenly headless thread.

Good idea Shog. My humble suggestion to Chris would be not to delete the db record, but simply to replace the body with placeholder text. "This message deleted by Joe Schmoe" or similar.

The few they have in my area (none in the past few years that I've heard about) have been excellent, but lacking in depth. A little less overview, and more details about practical application of the info would be nice. I agree, this would be a good weekly poll topic - let's see how everyone else feels about it. Of course, someone will post the obligatory CListCtrl reponse.;)

What do you mean by "MS event"? Does this include all conferences, labs, MVP days etc that are run by Microsoft? Or conferences and events about MS technology but not run by MS (eg VSLive)?
cheers,

I was referring to things like: MSDN Essentials, Tech Ed, Devdays / MS Connect.

So where's option #5 - Tech enough... if by "tech" you mean "VB gushing"?
Oh, and why is this in the suggestions forum?

Nope. He's a Saffa.
We have quite a few MSDN Essential workshops and other Microsoft events here in Johannesburg. I used to work in the building right next door to Microsoft so we used to just walk to the events.

I once went to an MS 'event' in South Africa. It was the introduction/presentation of Windows XP. Not really tech but still quite interesting.
