Order is important, generally put hover at the bottom if you want it to override the visited or active styles. Same goes for if you want visited to override active etc. etc.

Hi everyone, I hope someone can help mw with this.
I created an invoice database with senders, recipients and orders for a gift basket company. Only one thing left to create. The company makes local deliveries and they can not have more then 200 deliveries per day. How can I write the script so it loops through records for a particular date and adds if its less then 200 deliveries, but prompts for another date if that day is not available. In what format would I add the dates into the database as well? Right now I have 3 delivery date options - 1st: oDelDay1, oDelMonth1, oDelYear1
2nd: oDelDay2, oDelMonth2, oDelYear2 and 3rd: oDelDay3, oDelMonth3, oDelYear3. I'm open to any suggestions, please help me.
Thank you in advance,
Eleonora

Lauren,
I'm sorry, I don't undertsnd the code that much, I havn'e been working with asp that long. This actually looks like javascript.
Let me understand the logics first.
1. Count rs("DeliveryDate") with a particular day (say records for 12/15/2003)
2. If rs("DeliveryDate").count <= 200 then
add record
else
rs("DeliveryDate") = Request.Form("oDelDay2") & "/" & Request.Form("oDelMonth2") & "/" & Request.Form("oDelYear2")
End If
I know what needs to be done, except I can't seem toput the code together. I hope someone can help me.

ok what u want to do is find the first delivery day that has <200 deliveries booked against it
something like:
"select top 1 del_date from del_days where dels_for_day < 200 order by del_date"
that gives u the first date u can add a delivery to
then do an "insert into blah blah"
k?

Almost!
That wopuld be the second step after I have the count
Can't seem to get the count working.
If date is formatted as 12/15/2003, how do I look for it. I tried many different ways and it doesn't work. I have this
Set rsD = Conn.execute("SELECT Count(oDeliveryDate) AS oNum FROM Orders WHERE oDeliveryDate = 12/15/2003 ")
Thanks for all your help,
Eleonora

well the count thing is kinda superfluous if u just find the first day from today that has available delivery slots using something like that select statement i wrote last time
chk out sql server help files for the date formatting stuff
its been a while since i used it ... i use mysql these days

If I used your firsty suggestion, that means I have to creat a table that holds vailable number of deliveries. I have no idea how to do that, thats why I decided to do it this way, but thanks for all your help, i will use your advice.

well u have an item in the orders table i assume
and u would have a delivery days table no?
then when something is going to be delivered on a particular day u would assign the date or day_id of the delivery date to the item delivery date field in the items table and bump up the count for that delivery day entry by one
or thats how i would do it

Yes I have orders table, but no deliveries table. I didn't think it was necessary. I'm looking into what you are saying so I can understand better. Does that mean I would need to add 200 fields to the table and if they are filled then go to anether record?
This is killing me, sorry.

oh shame ... im sorry ur going mad with this
ok heres what i would do
make a table called deliveries
columns (all i can think of right now):
delivery_id (auto-number)
delivery_date (date)
num_booked (int)
then in ur item / order / whatever table add a column
delivery_id (int)
when ur looking for the next free delivery slot search thru the deliveries table for a num_booked less than 200 (make sure its after now() datewise)
set the item delivery_id column to the delivery date id u found and bump the delivery date record num_booked up by 1
when u cancel a delivery for a date bump the num_booked down by one
then u want a section in the cms to add delivery dates and voila!
hope that helps

After playing and playing and not understanding what you were saying because I'm not that good at asp, I finally figured it out.
What I did was, I converted dates into a string, searched for dates and counted the dates that mathched, that gave me the right record count. Then I took your select statment and now its a beautiful, fully functional piece of code.
Thanks for all your help Lauren,

Hi
I have created a simple Http Server that is imbedded in a desktop application in order to provide an easy way to present various documents via an imbedded browser. All works well, however I have noticed that when serving a PDF doc the browser (pdf plugin I guess) connects to the server twice and downloads the doc twice (only one displays). All other doc types (xls, txt) only create one connection and do one download. Can anyone shed any light on why PDFs behave this way ??
Thanks,

Check the User-Agent header. I have a sneaking suspision that one connection it IE and the other is Acrobat. Since the plugin architecture changed for Acrobat (Reader) sometime back, it does behave a little differently, although it is supposed to reuse the same moniker. Who knows.
The only other thing I can think of is that Acrobat as of the last couple versions "streams" the document so that you can get the first couple pages without waiting for the whole thing. It's possible that this second connection is required to make that happen (for whatever reason).

Hello,
I would like to put a panel at the top of my web page which spans the entire width of the page. Here is the code I have:
<asp:Panel id="Panel1" style="Z-INDEX: 102; LEFT: 0px; POSITION: absolute; TOP: 0px" runat="server" Width="100%" Height="48px" Wrap="False">
</asp:Panel>
For some reason, when this is rendered in IE, it leaves a quarter inch of space on the right side near the vertical scroll bar. If I set the width=110%, it spans the entire screen, but then a horizontal scroll bar appears. Is there any particular reason this is happening? The same thing happens when I set other objects to have a width of 100% (ex. horizontal rule, table, etc). How do I get rid of this problem?
Thanks for your help,
RC

This is a stylesheet problem. You should set the padding to 0 and possibly the margin to 0. This has to do with the box format that CSS uses.
So, to your style attribute add padding:0px;margin:0px .

Sounds like you've got the default padding on the page. Add html, body { padding: 0; margin: 0 } to your stylesheet and you should be good to go.

One other thing that you might want to try is setting the rightmargin attribute of your body tag to "0".

Hi all,
My Web server is IIS6 running on a windows 2000 server. I am trying open a document from an ASP Page. The problem I am facing is in clients other than windows 2000 the word file is not opening. Some clients if it opening with format mismatch error.
When I checked the Windows 2000 clients where I am getting the output, the file association for ASP is with Win Word. The other clients this entry is not there. ( My computer -> View -> Folder Options -> Files Association). Now if I manually put this entry still the format mismatch is coming.
How to solve this??
Thanks and Regards,

Are you sending the appropriate MIME type (HTTP's Content-Type header)? You should set the response's Content-Type to "application/msword".
