Okay.. what about the Execution Intercepting??
I think there are many APIs to hook.. what are all of these APIs?
What are the relatives for Windows 95, 98, ME?? and what about XP, 2000? And also LongHorn and Servers 2003??
Do you have any idea about making CPU Emulator using C++ to emulate a code in a Virtual environment???
Thanks for your great help!!

How noobish lol!!!
VB for file management hooking LOOOL ....
An Antivirus is NEVER secure if it uses usermode for hooking or processing things.
And if you think that you are able to code "Anti-Virus technology", then you will have to find your way.
Don't try it, just do it!

Okay.. I'm trying to make that with C++.. and there is no other way than Hooking these APIs I think??
Can you please help me hooking the APIs?? Where to find good tutorials??
Thanks for all!

Hi,
With SOAP TK 3.0 I'm trying the following:
ISoapConnectorPtr psmConnector = NULL;
ISoapSerializerPtr psmSerializer = NULL;
ISoapReaderPtr psmReader = NULL;
psmConnector.CreateInstance(__uuidof(HttpConnector30));
psmConnector->Property["EndPointURL"] = _bstr_t("https://172.16.1.95/WebServices/ws1/Service1.asmx");
psmConnector->Connect();
psmConnector->Property["SoapAction"] = _bstr_t("https://172.16.1.95/WebServices/ws1/HelloWorld");
psmConnector->Property["UseSSL"] = VARIANT_TRUE;
psmConnector->Property["SSLClientCertificateName"] = _bstr_t("CURRENT_USER\\MY");
psmConnector->BeginMessage();
psmSerializer.CreateInstance(__uuidof(SoapSerializer30));
psmSerializer->Init(_variant_t((IUnknown *) psmConnector->InputStream));
psmSerializer->StartEnvelope(_bstr_t(""), _bstr_t("STANDARD"), _bstr_t(""));
psmSerializer->StartBody(_bstr_t("STANDARD"));
psmSerializer->StartElement(_bstr_t("HelloWorld"), _bstr_t("https://172.16.1.95/WebServices/ws1/"), _bstr_t(""), _bstr_t(""));
psmSerializer->EndElement();
psmSerializer->EndBody();
psmSerializer->EndEnvelope();
psmConnector->EndMessage();
But this is NOT working & throws an exception at psmConnector->EndMessage() ! doh:
If I change the https:// to http:// - it works like a charm!
Anyone has any links where we can have some good VC++ (MFC) samples with SOAP TK 3.0? (And if possible, using the low level SOAP API!)
Thanks!

Hi, I try in Visual C++6 to show the dropdown list for a ownerdraw combo box when I write something in the edit box of the combo. Something like writing the path in the address combo box in Internet Explorer - it shows you the entries in the history matching your typing.
Does anyone has a clue? Or a sample on the Internet?
Gabi
P.S.
I can't even get the strings contained in the list. The following code:
int n;
CString _sz1;
n=m_combo1.GetLBTextLen(1);
m_combo1.GetLBText(1,_sz1.GetBuffer(n));
returns nothing in my _sz1. m_combo1 is the variable attached to the combo

Is there anyone who can tell my why I have to call AddTool twice to get my tooltips shown? If I only call it once there will be no tooltip. I don't think it's problem with the string.

When I add a rich edit control to my dialog and execute my dialog based application does not execute. Can someone explain what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance.

Always read what MSDN says:
Important: If you are using a rich edit control in a dialog box (regardless whether your application is SDI, MDI, or dialog-based), you must call AfxInitRichEdit() once before the dialog box is displayed. A typical place to call this function is in your program’s InitInstance member function. You do not need to call it for each time you display the dialog box, only the first time. You do not have to call AfxInitRichEdit() if you are working with CRichEditView.
Hope this helps

My suggestions are for VC++6, I don't know if that's what you will be using, but I have a few books and thses are my favorites
I am found Practical Visual C++ By Jon Bates & Tim Tompkins to very good starter / tutorial book & Programming Windows with MFC By Jeff Prosise is very good for MFC.
There are also lots & lots of great articles here on CP suitable for the beginner.
Happy Coding

Hi All
does any one know what would be the best way to convert a CString containing only
characters to a numeric value.
for example
CString str = "AFG"
output to be say
int 653790;
and each time you convert the str, you get the same result
Thanks

Do you want a hash value of the string, or simply want each character in the CString to be converted to its ASCII value?

thanks

A simple function would do for that!
CString GetASCIICodedString(CString& srcString)
{
CString srcResult, srcBuffer;
for(int nIndex = 0; nIndex < srcString.GetLength(); nIndex++)
{
srcBuffer.Empty();
srcBuffer.Format("%d", srcString.GetAt(nIndex));
srcResult += srcBuffer;
}
return srcResult;
}
This should work... I've not compiled it, just some rough code, so please test it properly.

Is possible, please let me know if this helped, or if it gave you any further problems!
