I am developing a project using C instead of visual c++, and when I call for example CreateSurface I must use following syntax:
IDirectDraw_CreateSurface(pdd,&ddsd,&pdds,NULL)
or
pdd->lpVtbl->CreateSurface(&ddsd,&pdds,NULL)
Otherwise I get an error like CreateSurface missing method...
Someone told me that :
All the COM functions are in the virtual method table of the
object. c++ handles that, but in c you have to do it manually.
use the macros defined in ddraw.h.
This seems strange to me is there any simplier way to do this?
And when I use:
DirectDrawCreate(NULL, &p->lpDD, NULL )
I get a compiler error:
error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _DirectDrawCreate
So how should I call DirectDrawCreate....
Is there any "smart" compiler settings that I can use to let the compiler to treat the Direct draw functions as they where in Visual c++ ???
I have included ddraw.h and linked to ddraw.lib if you wonder...
Please help, cheers Dani

Hello !
My program is sometimes throwing unhandled exeption. I would like to handle this exeption to take some appropriate actions (such as print debug informations in a file).
So, I would like to know first how to get this exception and call a function. And second, I need some advices to debug my program: in fact, these exceptions occurs very rarely so I need a way to know what happens exactly (so, for example at wich line of code, the state of the latest variables, ...). Any advice will be great
Thanks

Take a look at try and catch . You can then perform appropriate error handling in the catch section.

Is there a way to paint pictures without using WM_PAINT.
Thanks in Advance

Do you mean without sending WM_PAINT message or without handling WM_PAINT event?

I mean WM_PAINT message.

You can get pointer to device context (CDC) by using any of these functions: GetClientDC(), GetPaintDC() . You will not need to send/handle WM_PAINT message

Probably handle WM_PAINT as usual. When you need something repainted then invalidate that area (or the whole client area) and your paint handler will do the rest. But I am not so sure what you try to achieve.
In Win32 InvalidateRect() UpdateWindow() that is.

Hi all!
I'm trying to find some good exmples for C++ or VB to hook some APIs (To intercept File Execution) and also examples about : How to read a Boot Sector and Master Boot Records (MBR)...
I'm making an Anti-Virus technology and these points are needed..
I appreciate your help!
Thanks for your time guys..

Use CreateFile() - Read up the "Disk Devices" section of the CreateFile() API in MSDN. Use this with caution.

Any links on the net please?
What can I do with this?? I mean can I then read the Boot Master Records??
I think the CreateFile() API used for the Execution Intercepting..

You can google for CreateFile() , or even search MSDN Online[^] for the same.

YES! That (I suppose) is the ONLY possible method.

Okay.. what about the Execution Intercepting??
I think there are many APIs to hook.. what are all of these APIs?
What are the relatives for Windows 95, 98, ME?? and what about XP, 2000? And also LongHorn and Servers 2003??
Do you have any idea about making CPU Emulator using C++ to emulate a code in a Virtual environment???
Thanks for your great help!!

How noobish lol!!!
VB for file management hooking LOOOL ....
An Antivirus is NEVER secure if it uses usermode for hooking or processing things.
And if you think that you are able to code "Anti-Virus technology", then you will have to find your way.
Don't try it, just do it!
|
|
|
|
|
Okay.. I'm trying to make that with C++.. and there is no other way than Hooking these APIs I think??
Can you please help me hooking the APIs?? Where to find good tutorials??
Thanks for all!

Hi,
With SOAP TK 3.0 I'm trying the following:
ISoapConnectorPtr psmConnector = NULL;
ISoapSerializerPtr psmSerializer = NULL;
ISoapReaderPtr psmReader = NULL;
psmConnector.CreateInstance(__uuidof(HttpConnector30));
psmConnector->Property["EndPointURL"] = _bstr_t("https://172.16.1.95/WebServices/ws1/Service1.asmx");
psmConnector->Connect();
psmConnector->Property["SoapAction"] = _bstr_t("https://172.16.1.95/WebServices/ws1/HelloWorld");
psmConnector->Property["UseSSL"] = VARIANT_TRUE;
psmConnector->Property["SSLClientCertificateName"] = _bstr_t("CURRENT_USER\\MY");
psmConnector->BeginMessage();
psmSerializer.CreateInstance(__uuidof(SoapSerializer30));
psmSerializer->Init(_variant_t((IUnknown *) psmConnector->InputStream));
psmSerializer->StartEnvelope(_bstr_t(""), _bstr_t("STANDARD"), _bstr_t(""));
psmSerializer->StartBody(_bstr_t("STANDARD"));
psmSerializer->StartElement(_bstr_t("HelloWorld"), _bstr_t("https://172.16.1.95/WebServices/ws1/"), _bstr_t(""), _bstr_t(""));
psmSerializer->EndElement();
psmSerializer->EndBody();
psmSerializer->EndEnvelope();
psmConnector->EndMessage();
But this is NOT working & throws an exception at psmConnector->EndMessage() ! doh:
If I change the https:// to http:// - it works like a charm!
Anyone has any links where we can have some good VC++ (MFC) samples with SOAP TK 3.0? (And if possible, using the low level SOAP API!)
Thanks!

Hi, I try in Visual C++6 to show the dropdown list for a ownerdraw combo box when I write something in the edit box of the combo. Something like writing the path in the address combo box in Internet Explorer - it shows you the entries in the history matching your typing.
Does anyone has a clue? Or a sample on the Internet?
Gabi
P.S.
I can't even get the strings contained in the list. The following code:
int n;
CString _sz1;
n=m_combo1.GetLBTextLen(1);
m_combo1.GetLBText(1,_sz1.GetBuffer(n));
returns nothing in my _sz1. m_combo1 is the variable attached to the combo

Is there anyone who can tell my why I have to call AddTool twice to get my tooltips shown? If I only call it once there will be no tooltip. I don't think it's problem with the string.
