I am brand new to this board.
How do I send a private message to a member.
One of the members here created a post that was EXTREMELY helpful to me and I would like to thank him/her directly.

Solution 1

In the message they wrote, there should be a Email link on the bottom left of the message window.

If you are talking of article/message then you can reply back using the article's forums or message thread.
If you are talking of an answer here at Q&A, then you can use Comments feature to respond back.

Internally, all will drop an email to that person, but all the above are publically available.

In case, you want to email him/her privately, you need to look at the message bottom. If the member has enabled the 'Email' link so that others can contact him then use that or else you have no option to reach member privately.
