Error while running remote unlock utility on windows XP64Bit

Dear Friend
it is very powerfull utility as I seen. But on some of the machine I am facing following problem
When I run the application in the commnad prompt RemoteUnlock.exe hostname Error displayed is
ERROR: Remote service did not start successfully: 997
What could be the problem? There is no screen saver running on the remote machine, Firewall is off, I have manually copied the dll file and RemoteUnlockservice file to c:\windows folder. The mention host name is Windows 64Bit pc

Dear Dave,

Thank you fo your reply.I am a local and domain administartor for all the workstations here at my office. I look after desktop,server and network administration.
Above problem mentioned is mainly for all my windows XP 64Bit workstations. On 32Bit I don't have any problem to execute this code from my machine.

Any other solution. To start the this service manualy?

Solution 1

You probably don't have the authorization to start a service on the remote machine.

Or the service that it's trying to start isn't registered properly or is failing to start for some reason.
