That is not a question anyone can answer:
1) There is nothing to compare it with: using old ropes and a blunt pencil? Using assembler and a Roladex?
2) There is far, far to much scope there - any reasonably helpful answer would take days to write.

Try again, and ask a much more specific question - we can't answer totally general questions: your tutor would be a better bet.
