ldap_parse_result failing with Unavailable Critical Extension message in active directory 2008

I am trying to import users from AD 2008 but I receive error ldap_parse_result: failing with Unavailable Critical Extension message in active directory 2008. The sort is based on "whenchanged" attribute.

Is there any way to know if the particular sort key is available on the AD or to view all the sort keys on AD.
