Quite agree.
Just been hit with £1500 for a new ABS unit. This is for the traction control part of it and is a regular failure on most VW / Audi / Skoda plus many others. Not happy

I always loved cars, speedy, sporty, aggressive ones with light and under the hood tuning but since I got my Hayabusa everything with more that 2 wheels feels like a Bus.
Since then I have no special requirements for a car besides being comfortable and economic.
I still like them as described above but just not for myself.
The thing is, if you want to have fun you must have a bike, everything else is just a way to get you from point A to point B

Agreed 100% and beyond. Every time my friends give me a lift I have to hold on to something because it looks like that heavy metal box won't be able to stop next to the red traffic lights (-.
The only issue with the two wheels is that you won't find any economy in that. I'm waiting for the electric motorcycle so much, I hope to get one in the next two-three years.

What do you mean by not getting any economy?
Depending on the bike you sure spend a lot less gas that any average car.
Riding my Hayabusa under 140km/h with a steady wrist I was able to show a 5.4L/100km mark!
Very good for a 180hp / 240Kg bike.
Everything goes to hell if I unleash it and ride above 250km/h but even at this speed it ends marking above 9L/100km... 8.1, 8.2 was the usual average.
Pick a car, even an economic one and you don't have that many able to give you this kind of performance vs economy range.
Leaving the Busa alone now, you have plenty of good Scooters able to give you very nice consumption averages. Have a look at Suzuky's Burgman for instance.
Also here in Portugal you get a highway toll discount if you ride a bike... I think it's 30%.

Well yes, if you count 1 guy in a car vs 1 guy on the motorcycle (minus all the trash you carry in your trunk). It's a completely different thing when you add more people to the picture with stuff you leave on the back seat, etc.
Then you need to add the running cost. I spend 300EUR every year on tires alone, do ~100km every day, change oil four times a year (+2 oil filter changes), and so on and so on. A fella who lives next door has a suzuki swift (yeah that a motorcycle on four wheels) and he only stares at me when we speak about it (-.
P.S. but the freedom and "free" wind is priceless!
EDIT: forgot to add, my Suzuki GSR 600 does 5-6lts for 100km. It costs ~50EUR a week just for gas (-.

I ride my Triumph Daytona 675 every day to work, and to me, even the Hayabusa is a bus. You can't use it on a track day, which is the reason I have a bike.

As for my Busa on track... it have been there, not very competitive with lighter bikes but you sure have some fun with it.
I used to make 130km a day (around 30.000km a year) on it until I changed office and had a train almost door to door... it now have 65.000km and I don't think my back would have handled it on a bike with a more "racing" position

30.000 km a year is quite impressive. I do about half I think, riding from March/April until November/December or so, depending on the weather.
I only tried a Hayabusa once, when the local dealer had a sales campaign, and I was really impressed with the powerful engine. It never stopped pushing...

Here in Portugal/Lisbon I can ride all year.
It doesn't snow so what's left is rain and wind. The rain must be very heavy to keep me in a can, what I really don't like is the wind. I need to cross a 15km windy bridge and on bad days I'm pulled and pushed sideways pretty hard.
So on most years I'm able ride everyday, on worst years so far I may be forced to keep the bike at home for a week or two...
I really like my bike as it lets me have different kind of riding experiences.
I can do a more touring stile even with my girl on not sacrificing comfort at all as both seats are pretty big and not having to lean forward too much.
On a more sporty style it goes beyond 300km/h with no real effort.
Another thing is that I'm a 1.80m tall guy with 85Kg... I feel better with a bike this size bellow
Anyway, this is all about riding "your" bike and feel good fantastic doing it!

Well in general there are two types of "bikes", bicycles and motorcycles.
When young I rode bicycles now I need something with a motor. At twice the gas mileage of my car it helps.
PS: My bike is about 600 pounds and is not going to any track.

I have a scooter for coming to work (before you laugh, I am over 50 so I am allowed to scoot). Economical, sporty, no problem parking, and saves buying a third car for the kids to drive.

I also though about buying a scooter for my self along with the Hayabusa.
As I stated before, I did a lot of km per day, the Busa was not the intelligent choice, more like a passion... I would have spent way less cash.
Scooters are not only those 50cc vacuum-cleaners anymore, there are a lot of choices out there, and they're very nice to ride on...

My Honda has 125cc and a top speed of 100kmh. On the way to work I can't get that fast anyway, all narrow roads and farm tracks. I love the electric starter and the automatic gearbox, twist and go. The spousal unit may laugh, but I drive it every day and he only zooms his big Honda on Sundays if it isn't raining. Yes, we have one garage just for motorbikes and my scooter. Whatever, when I arrive at work, I'm the one who is smiling.
As the price of petrol goes up every year, more and more colleagues discover their old scooters and mopeds at the back of the garage.
