There's no "middle ground" between "I totally would" and the other choices: while I am not sure this survey was ever intended to be taken seriously, if it was, then its design is questionable.

I don't like smart homes, though I worked on smart home project and it was very interesting, but personally I don't want such a house

I would not let such TV, fridge and washing machine into my house - I have already kids!
As for the outside light - I have none. I do not one people to come over at hours they need light to find my house...
I'm not questioning your powers of observation; I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. (V)

I think you need to get some friends...in the UK winter, it's dark by 15:00 ~ 16:00, and will still be dark by the time you get to work. So...your friends would only be able to visit during both the days of summer!
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

"If your beer fridge , outside light, TV and washing machine had an API, would you write apps to control them?"
Of those whose faith and/or current personal circumstances call for abstinence of alcohol, are you offended in CP suggesting you have a beer fridge and/or that, in answering such the Straw Poll, would go against your beliefs and/or personal circumstances?
As for me, I'm offended!!
For, I'm gonna go buy that Raspberry Pi and figure out how to integrate it to my beer, wine, and hard alcohol fridge .
small print: Humor, people. Humor.
And, yes, as a computer programmer, we must needs analyze every angle possible of a given set of parameters, including that of potential 'unfulfilled expectations' of the Project Sponsor (CP, in this case, regarding their Straw Poll).

How about a little mod on the beer fridge and turn it into an automated self tapping been keg fridge?
Have a cup holder that when the glass/mug gets low it automatically fills and keeps track of it's own level and calls the store and orders a new keg and has it delivered before running out. Would that replace a woman?, probably not but it would be close.

Who wouldn't?
Heck, I've tried to hack the controller for my LED Christmas tree lights, so why would an outside light stay untouched?

One of my friends did a DIY Home automation/security system using Arduino and Raspberry Pi units. It controls the lights, security cameras, alarms, thermostat, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, oven, dishwasher, various robots he built, TVs, radios, computers, garage door, locks, window blinds, and so on and so forth.
He actually modded most of these things to be controlled by the system (the kitchen appliances and garage door opener are big ones).
He actually is quite rich and lives in a massive mansion (can't remember where it is, weird place name) and has pretty much everything automated.
And yes, he is brilliant.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?
