Hi,
my name is Juan and I develop software since 1996 on Visual C++. Recently I try to decode the mouse protocol, so I develop a service and open one serial port and received this data, now I want to send this message from user side to kernel side, I mean, I do not want to do a driver I try to use a service. So, my problem now is how to send this information to kernel side in order to dispatch the data to the application on the user side.
I wait for any help.

It's no coincidence that those of us who do a lot of template programming grit their teeth over that one
I once calculated how much money my employer would save by giving everyone a faster computer, and cut down on compilation [waiting] time. Needless to say, none of the bean counters bought it.

I used to spend a lot of time with my coworkers grousing about stupid management decisions. Pretty pointless, and rather exhausting.
Now that I work for myself and by myself, I simply add a "stupidity factor" in to my hourly rate. Unfortunately, there's one client that's actually really intelligent and makes intelligent decisions, and he's getting a huge discount at this point!
At least I'm fair.

Its a good idea for a survey, but it probably selects the results by virtue of where people are when they respond to it! They are coding, researching, or surfing (depending on how they define it). I figure a lot of people who started out coding and end up in meetings all the time, just don't get to Code Project like they used to...

There is one important issue missing, what about testing, my or others code? Keeping test documents up to date, etc. is also a lot of work.

I do not believe that Testing is a seperate task from coding. Unless of course you work for a Federal Government Contractor with an IV&V contract that you are assigned to.
I say this because, while I am looking at the requirements for my apps, I am usually creating test programs to cause my program to fail. Even when I am just doing the banging the keyboard test I am usually popping myself into debug mode and writing code in the indermediat window to dertermine why I am not getting the data or response that I want.
This is why I still consider most testing, part of the coding phase, all other parts of testing should have been determined during the Design Phase. Except when there is a IV&V firm involved.

Agreed it is possible to test as you go but you do need to test the final system 'out of the box'.

When creating test cases while reviewing requirements, You are not just performing as you go or unit testing. Most of the test cases are Unit/process based, but also should fit as a system test. In my 21 years of development experience, majority of system and unit testing are performed by some Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) group/company/organziation that is outside of your group/organization.
I have not worked for any of these groups, and like most designers, developers and others IT pros that have to have their work independantly validated & verified, our relationship can sometimes be advisarial. Although as a project/Technical manager, I usually have to cast my ego aside and get everyone to work together.
That is also why in my development groups, when I have anything to say about procedures, we create test cases/test plans/identify inputs/outputs, perform code or peer reviews... prior to developing any code. That way there is something to verify what is being developed during this phase of the SDLC. And Like I said many of our test cases are coded to automate testing and test reporting.
I really don't like it when anything comes back from the QA or IV&V that had anytype of syntactical or unhandle errors. So while I agree there is a place for testing, my experience has usually been, that our product is reviewed by someone else who job it is to perform the 'out of box' testing. And with the plethora of testing tools, that allow somekind of scripting to automate and simulate the stresses and activities of the system, I would guess that alot of testers believe that their job involves a lot of Coding as well.

What we really needed here was a way to vote the top three activities were upto in order.
For me its:
1. Coding (about 60%)
2. Reasearch (about 20%)
3. Customer support (10%) 
4. Other (10%)

I've been thinking about modifying the survey to allow, say, 3 votes on multiple choice options.
But then I've also been thinking about getting sleep one of these days.
