But if you work with nothing but morons, your whole company could go under!

You will. You're assuming that management is smart enough to lay off the feebs before they lay you off.
(Management. Smart. I used them in the same sentence. Ewww)

I like it to, but I do not trust management to see who is doing the real work.
Have it seen in another IT company: The smart, but quiet ones (who did the work in the projects) in the development team were layed off and they kept the not so smart, who were able to claim the success of the projects. The company went down the river a year later ...
Personally I like to work with people as smart as myself, all taking equal part in the success of the projects we are working on.

I agree. I was thinking about that when I answered it in the first place.

In reality I like working with a mix of people who are smarter, as smart, and not as smart. You can learn stuff from all 3 groups.
Smarter - Obviously, you can learn from their knowledge.
As smart - usually no two people have the *exact* same subset of knowledge. You can learn from each other in this scenario.
Not as smart - you can learn by teaching them what you know.

That'd be worth a photo.
It seems many states try to change their stereotypes by road signs. In Kentucky, signs say "Drive Smart". In New Jersey, signs say "Drive Friendly".

Well, Kentucky folks are already friendly.
I don't know about the New Jersey folks, however .

This is of course correct, how can you expect to get(be) better(smarter) yourself, without somebody to learn from? Also, this give an incentive to be better(smarter).

I like having smarter guys to do what I say. I will never be a hectic hardcore programmer. I get stuck into every part of a project including the clients and that is what I enjoy. By smart guys I mean guys I can hand out the specific requirements to and get back a working block of code. I can come up with the ideas but heaven forbid me havint to actually do the number crunching algorithm for it.
Some people worry that smarter co-workers means you get left behind and stuck in a dark corner. Well, thats pretty true. Our "non-smart" guys end up doing maintenance work for a long, long time.
But if you are in a leadership role and can do the Baffle and Bullshit routine with clients then having smart co-workers is a great thing.
(Naturally I am assuming smart as in technically smart. Not smart as in business or client handling.)

How was your holiday, btw?
Also, I will be in town in 2 weeks for a MS talk. We should maybe meet up?
