I remember a movie where a guy had a hand held device that when he turned a nob it got women very excited and made them do things they otherwise would not do (well at least in public) ...

Yes, that's right. some girls found my pda very interesting with its full color display and the "poor" handwriting recognition. I never meant to boast my device but anyways it initiated the conversation with the girls. But the side effect is some people think you're boasting your cool device, when u never tried to do so. I had to explain their tiny camera cell phone is much better than my brick-sized PDA phone.

A provocative question? Maybe.
I can only speek for myself and I must say I have never missed one.

Did you ever have one?

I had one and decided it was not useful for my situation.
For some people they are life savers, for other just fun toys to play Solitaire on while on the tube.

I got one just to play around with. I wanted to experiment writing code for Pocket PC.
I Sync it with Outlook and its cool. I must say that I could live without it, but still, if you have the money and you like gadgeds it will keep you ocupied for many hours...

Yes, but what about the drain on those poor battery trees? They're overharvested as it is.

I don't know how much CO2 is there, and I think you don't know too.

Have u ever felt your handwriting is becoming weird cuz of the long use of PDA? Once I was writing something on the real paper and I realized I was writing the way I did on the PDA. Its letter recognition should be improved. I'm never satisfied with it. I don't expect it to be able to recognize my friends' handwriting. They never understand why the high tech damned expensive thing doesn't bother to understand their handwriting.
(I'm talking about its Korean recognition. It's aweful.)

Mine's almost unreadable before the use of a PDA. Perhaps I should stop thinking about getting one .

Seing the number of write-ins for CListCtrl, maybe we should have a poll where CListCtrl is a valid answer, like which is your favourite control class or something like that. Maybe that will finally put a rest to it. (or not)

But then how would we vote CJoelHoldsworthCtrl? (No, I was not the one who voted CJoelHoldsworthCtrl.)

Well, the poll after that could be the favourite custom controls class?

A new name for overflowing its bounds? Try it now - I added another 10px to the margin below it.

Something that might get me to buy a PDA: if you could surreptitiously press a button on it when you walk near an attractive member of the opposite sex, and it automatically downloads her phone number.
