Supposedly 10% of software developers are female. 140 represents 10% of the poll, so 90 people reading romance books could be valid. I can't imagine many male readers, but there might be one or two.

there are a lot of things that could be "considered" in that category, and I'd venture to guess that some of them don't have a lot of words. in which case I'm sure it would have had a few more votes :P

Seriously. Has anyone read any book that falls into this category that was interesting and maybe actually helped a bit? I was thinking of reading something like that but there are just so many of them and I'm sure most are cr*p....

I think some of them are okay. You have to be careful though. Some go into spriritual rubbish (my ex was in to those) that are just nonsense.
There was one that I got a sampler for, as part of a business self help series, with some crazy woman called Lisa Jemenez (I think) and she was just nuts. She kept saying how wonderful it was to be her. So, no help there! I can't imaging that anyone would buy her course based on that sampler.

A good choice. I think his style is a little drier but the content is better quality. Jim Rohn has more of a sense of humour and fun which makes for easier reading, but I feel he doesn't go into the same depth in many areas.

That is one of the very short list of books that I have read from cover to cover. The rest would have to be a few computer programming books...

No time for books anymore , when I was young I used to read a book at week, family life and work like won't allow me to read.
I occasionaly read science journals on holiday, but they've been far and few over the past three years, hopefully in October I'll be in Lanzarote and I'll be making time for a book during keeping the kids occupied.

I agree. To work 70 hours a week (or more) have a significant other and a social life leaves no time for reading even if I wanted to do so...

May be I`m lucky,Because I`m unmarried. I have some time to read, although after 10 o`clock at night.

No 10 o'clock at night it's time for some shut eye up at 6:30am and in work for 7:20am.
|

My workplace is about 8 miles drive and the stretch is bit slow-moving because of heavy traffic. Since I only use public commutation, I can carry the book and read it along.
I admit that 'Reading whilst travelling' is harmful to eyes. But got addicted to it.
