Oh my GOD !
Still some of you using VSS ? this is a very dangerous source control ! do you want to loose your work ?

I want to loose my work on the world... (and not lose it).

Slow as hell!
I'm partially telecommuter and I doubt I could work normally with it from home.

While it does have limitations, SourceSafe works reasonably well. It's less bug-ridden and much less complex than a number of the other options in the poll. The key to SourceSafe integrity is keep the data base within limits (5GB and 10 users), regular use of the ANALYZE tool, and frequent backups.

I like to live dangerously...
worse, there's projects at work where the vss database is so big it can't be taken offline for long enough to fix the errors in it!

We currently use VSS.
It is relatively buggy and I believe it's limitations are well known. For example someone mentioned 10 devs and less than 5 gbs... I'd be much more conservative than that!
And yes, frequent analyzes and backups are a MUST!
On the other hand, at least it's free and well integrated into VS and so on.

did you know Subversion is totally free ? and very well integrated with everything ?
