Might want to clarify that 'OP' in this case is the OP from the abusive answer in the other post.
As it stands I read it as if the OP from this question was being reported, and couldn't figure out why :)

I was afraid of that, ah well the client will just have to deal with the refresh of the matrix.
I refuse to write crappy and buggy javascript code (mostly cause I'm not skilled enough at it to do it correctly in javascript).

The partialview option is something I'v been considering (but due to the complexity of the screen, this matrix isn't the only thing on it, isn't easy, yet not impossible). Though the client was pretty specific that he doesn't want the entire matrix to reload every time and with this I'd still have to do that.
I'm fairly certain that there is no other (clean and good) way to do it but since front end development isn't my strongest asset I did want to see if I wasn't missing something.

I follow you on the views should be constructed / refreshed via re-rendering them. That's why I don't like the current implementation that does everything in javascript (and because it's buggy at best).
The UI representation is relatively simple.
Imagine a table where the cells only contain a combobox, and you have to be able to add/remove both rows and columns.
There is no Datagrid or anything else in it.
something like this (a bit hard to do in just text but ...):
_________column_______column______column
row_____combobox_____combobox____combobox
row_____combobox_____combobox____combobox
button add row
button add column
button remove row
button remove column
I can do it (with ease) if I do a refresh of the view after each click on a button, but the client doesn't really like that solution (if I don't find anything better he will have to deal with it but wanted to see if there wasn't a better way)

Your best bet is to query the table with a select and see if it returns anything.
Pseudo code:
"SELECT ipaddress FROM addresses WHERE ipaddress=@address"
(The @address is a parameter so you'll need to make a oledbparameter and add it to your command, this is to prevent sql injection)

I'm guessing your talking web application here.
Unfortantly I haven't had any experience in using this for the web.
Depending on the application itself the overall working should be the same. The client will however always have to choice his printer and pagesettings once.
When they choice them (in your custom form that calls the printer and page dialogs) you can them save them locally onto your server and next time they want to print you can use those to print directly to printer.
But I haven't tried this so you might have to work around some problems.

Reason for deleting question:
You asked the same question only an hour ago.
You got an answer there, if there is something not clear you need to comment on the answer there not start a new question.
You can find your question back by clicking on your profile or by clicking on the 'my posts' link on top of Quick answers.

There is your problem.
When having more than one version installed and you switch between them the installer will always show.
Try opening word 2003 - closing it - opening word 2007
The same will happen (at least it used to so should still be so)
There isn't much you can do about that.
I suspect that it is needed for some initiation of parameters or path's.

Is this a new program?
If so don't use vb6 it is ancient and no longer supported. Move to .NET
If not: like 'ZeeroC00l' said post the code you use to get the selected row so we can see what is going wrong.

I believe Christian Graus has written more than a few articles for image manipulation so you might want to check those out and see if you can find what you need.

Other than that you'll need to give us more information in order for us to be able to help you.

Why do you want to do this with a service?
Can you explain what exactly your requirements are so we can suggest an alternate way to do this.
As Sakryukov said you will have to rethink your program. Either forget about using a service or forget about displaying anything on-screen.

I'm sure Sandeep will help you further.
He also opened an issue in the site's 'bug's and suggestions' forum that you might want to follow:

Well me being a low level member (when it comes to articles) couldn't even see the article so couldn't know if that the article was pending or that he did respond to comments.
So I gave the best advice I could in my position :)

Reason for delete:
Not even remotely a question, specify what you have done, where you are stuck, what the problem is.
Don't just ask us to do your work for you

This sounds a lot like a homework question.
Show us what you have done, where do you get an error or are you stuck?
Ask specific questions not just 'help me with writing this or that'
And are you really doing this in vb6? The language is dead and ancient, use .NET.

0) Why are you upgrading to vb 8.0 (if my memory is correct that's the 2005 .NET version)? Why not go to 2008 or 2010?
1) vb 6.0 doesn't simply upgrade to .NET (unless your very lucky).
Your best bet is to just rewrite the project in .NET and use the vb 6.0 project as a guideline.
Also if you want help here you'll have to provide more than 'can you help me with errors' such as what errors are you actually getting, what have you done, what was the result and what was the expected result, ...

Without seeing at least your SQL query how can we help you?
Provide the SQL query and any code that might be relevant.

Nobody is going to read all that code for you.
Post only the code that is relevant (the part where things go wrong)
And explain your question more clearly.
What is it that goes wrong, what is it that the code is supposed to do and what does it actually do.
Do you get a error message, if so post it.
As it is now, I doubt very much that anyone is going to be able or willing to provide you with a solution.

Have you posted everything including comments in the function. When receiving a error line number the comments are counted as well so...

The 'INSERT' command or the 'UPDATE' command write's to the database but without more detail about what you want we can't help you.

You'll have to explain a bit better what you want because this makes no sense to me.
Explain what you want / need your program to do, where you are stuck and what you'v done so far.

And your question is?
You'll have to write a custom control for this (isn't that hard to do)
You don't expect us to just write if for you now do you, don't you want to learn something?
Show us what you have tried and where you are stuck (specific piece of code if possible) and we'll help but we won't just write this for you.

use the comment feature to reply to a answer
Then all you can do is index the right columns and or add some more ram and see if that helps

This is far to general question.
What have you tried, where are you stuck, do you have any code (only post what is relevant).
Without knowing more about your program and database nobody can give you an answer in the form of a QA answer.

Please explain a bit more what you want / what it is doing and what is is supposed to do.
What isn't working, do you get any errors, if so where?
Just saying that it isn't working isn't going to get you any help, we can't read your mind.

Don't just ask for code.
What have you tried?
Where are you stuck?
Do you have any code at all?
And remove your email from your nick, unless you really really like spam mails

You will have to provide much more detail about your program and what it is exactly that you want.
As it is now I fear nobody will be able to give you a meaningful answer since our mind readers are all broken.

Yes I know you can't just attach the parameter to the query and run it.
You have to use 'sp_executesql'
Check the link in my answer it's explained there

Actually the 'a' is his alias for the table name passed in the @items parameter.
