Hi Addy, Thanks for your reply.
Yes I've made two duplicated codes for Timerelapsed and process buffer as the timer will be triggered and display the data on the listbox. The ProcessBuffer will displyed data on the console output. This is to make sure that I received the data continously. The purpose of the timer is to display the data from the buffer every 5 seconds. My disconnect button code is as above. My connect button will be enabled after disconnect button is click. Sorry for not posting that.
I would like my data to be displayed on the listbox after disconnecting and connecting it back again. But it seems like the data will be displayed on the output and not the listbox. im not sure why, is there any steps for me to follow?

Hi javed,
ikeep getting this error at this line:
ExcelApp.Cells[i + 2, j + 1] = dataGridView2.Rows[i].Cells[j].Value.ToString();
It says, "object reference not set to an instance of an obj"
Why is that so? My code is similar to this link: http://www.gridview.net/export-datagridview-to-excel-in-c/

Thanks for your reply. Update meaning I'll continuously received(Read) the com port data every 5 seconds. I'm sorry for the strange codes, I'm still new in c#. I'm able to display the first data on the listbox but not the subsequent data from the com port.

i'm using the byte data format to read the data. On display on the textbox, it'll be in string format. I've manage to display the data, however I'm still unsure on how to extract the data from the packet description table on the tech specs as I would like to extract only the pulse rate and SPO2.
Thanks Derek.

I'm reading the product documentation online, however i'm still unsure which byte is used to send the pulse data so that I could convert the byte to float i guess?
kindly advised.
