Basically what I'm looking to achieve is that once you log in and the 'user' creates a new session, the master design file changes to suit that specific users session. Admin, user, etc etc.

The problem is I need to pass the data through a WCF component. Its all well and good just reading the data straight in but how do I pass it through. Oh well I've decided to give up on it and try something else thanks for your time.

Actually no his did work, and for some reason when your applying the style in that manner you simply declare the base word. For example if you wish to change font size you do style.font as opposed to font-size. Thanks anyway.

I think it may be down to the code being (local) and me being a total tool and going through the server 'SQLExpress' im gunna try this out hopefully it works >.<

I've managed to switch the user back by unattaching all databases and reattaching god knows why that fixed it ... but it says 'Failed to log in with MASTER\Milton' anyway so now i fix it the bloody stored procedure just wont work... one thing after another xD

I've just updated my question. I think it makes more sense now. I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve there doesn't look like what I'm after. But thanks for trying! Possibly take a look at the reviewed version for me please?

Well I have a front end which I've done in c# and used ADO.net to run the stored procedure. It works fine if I remove the top bit up to the rollback and just use the bottom update. So I guess its within the rollback itself. I feel like maybe because its not returning the RAISERROR anywhere its causing an issue, but it doesn't process the procedure.

I dunno if your still about, but I've been playing with it and it now won't work again. If you could take another look I'd be very grateful, I'll put it up in the question.

I see, thanks for the help but the problem is still persisting "Missing partial modifier on declaration of type 'WCFWindowsF.Form1'; another partial deceleration of this type exists.". I've read some stuff off google someone said make it 'public partial class Form1' but that didn't make a difference :(

Ok woops, my bad I accidently changed the connection feild. Yeah it actually displays fine > Alpha (500 ,455 )
Beta (56 ,34 )
Gamma (90 ,95 )
Delta (34 ,34 )
Omega (64 ,6 )
So yeah the connections fine. But AlphaX = reader["X"].ToString(); is still not saving the value 500 to the variable.

Well when I run Console.WriteLine(currentGroupName + " (" + reader["X"].ToString() + "," + reader["Y"].ToString() + ")"); All the data thats in the database comes up properly. This is testing it in console, since my main program is windows form. So the connection to the database is fine, its just not storing the value thats in the X column into my variable AlphaX in the switch :S
WurmInfinity
14-Mar-11 11:48am

There are 5 groups, Alpha, Beta, Gamma etc. Uhmmm basically the switch is saying case "Alpha" then the string AlphaX should = the value "X" from the database. However it does not store it since the messagebox at the bottom of the code still says null when displayed :(

The Focusable = False sounds like what I need, but i'm struggling with where I should place it / how I should write it. Should it be global in the class for example "btnS Focusable = False"? or should I place it in the buttons click code? Or dose Visual Studio have a property to set it to false? I can't see one but you never know.

Aha Estys has just highlighted my issue. The first code I was using works its just when you click the button of the keyboard the textbox looses focus, any ideas?. (This is very helpful stuff thanks). I would prefer it if the code could go around the button as exampled in my original post.

It was an example, I wrote up quickly just to get a question answerd. My actual code is far longer and I dont want to paste it in because I want to learn not just have it alterd by someone else so I created a simular code that was far shorter. Wow that looks good, but im afraid this is my first C++ assignment and we've been given a task and I don't think the tutor has quite comprehended how difficult this might be for us learners, but I do like a challenge sooooo ok basically the float will not be static it will be a cin >> and will later be displayed as a cout <<. So far 1 litre of paint covers 8 square meters. Inputs for area have already been done so i'm looking for basically wallArea/8 to give me how much paint is needed, then I want that number to be rounded up and stored as a variable to be displayed in cout <<. Sorry i'm not good at explaining :(.
