Load page contents as the way they were previously after clicking tha back button

Have 2 pages, when I create an appointment it for the selected date, it takes me to another page and now when i click the back button so i can go to the previous page, it refreshes the page and all my stuf that work on page load are executed, now thats not what I want, I need my page to keep the contents of the previous page. How can i solve this?

use session or viewstate object

I tried EnableviewState,ViewStateMode an not realy sure what to store in the session
