how to disable a parent window when a child is opened

Hi, i am having a problem of disabling the parent window when a child window is opened and again enabling the parent when the child is closed .....
any help would be appreciated....

Solution 1

Assuming this is ASP.Net, you can use modal dialog. Check out jQuery modal dialog or Ajax ModalPopUpExtender.

For windows forms, use ShowDialog method to display child form.
