i want to learn microsoft sql server 2008 during my free time i.e., during weekends, which edition should i download and what are the system requirements.

thanks for your reply. But installation abruptly ended stating that "System requirement are not suitable to install Microsoft SQL Server", as i'm using XP OS in my laptop.
Does XP dont support Microsoft SQL Server 2012 express edition? or
Is there any edition in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 which runs in XP?

If you are still using XP then find SQL Express 2005 or 2008 instead.

For just practise SQL Express is enough.
