As far as I know, you can't "set it permanently", even on a database-by-database basis (certainly, the ALTER DATABASE statement doesn't list it as an option:

^]) and you should definitly not try to set it for a SQL Server instance, as it will have a negative on performance for all databases, not just yours:

It's a connection based setting for a reason: it has a big impact on performance and shouldn't be set to OFF at all! :laugh:
Why not just check your values instead?
