Hi,
Here are the steps,
1. Use any web service that gets the real time currency conversion between multiple currencies
2. use vb.net to connect the web service and get the value in a string
3. Create a database and table with all required fields
4. Use ADO.NET to pass the string and save the data to sql server table
There are several paid and free web service for currency converter.
I like the free one
http://download.finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s=USDINR=X&f=sl1d1t1ba&e=.csv[
^]
Note the query string parameter "s"
s = USDINR - means USD to INR
GBPUSD means Great Britain Poind to USD
EURGBP means EUR to GBP
The webservice will generate a csv file. You can google to find out how to capture csv and get the string in vb.net (pretty straight forward)
Saving string or csv to database tables - tons of e.gs you can find in cp
Hope this helps.
cheers
