I don't know why but we don't have access to our previous forum posts through our profile page as before. Well, the only solution seems to search in forum comments. But the problem is that the codeproject's search engine is not accurate and sometimes sucks! For example: I am searching for one of my old posts in c# forum, I search it by my previous name 'meisi' between 4/1/2002 and 1/1/2005. It returns the posts whose owner is 'meisi'. One of the post titles is : "Retrieving Image from SQLServer database". So, it means that if I search for 'meisi database', the search result should at least return this one, but it doesn't! Those where the days! Having access to our previous posts was a good facility.

I think that feature was abolished due to performance problems with the servers.

Chris! I'm waiting for you! Please tell us what the reason is? Is there any plan to turn it on again?

This was done for performance reasons. I'll look at getting it reinstated.

Thanks Chris! I post most of my messages with the "Notify me" checkbox unchecked, so reviewing my old posts was the quickest way I had to check back for replys to my posts in non lounge areas...now I can do it again!!! :applause:

Some of the forums are too large, especially the Visual C++ forum. There are so many posts per day that new posts are lost very fast, which makes getting answers unlikely.
There are many good categories set up for articles and it would be great to have similar sub-forums. This would also make it easier to find more relevant posts.

Haven't seen this addressed in the suggestions section...
When I copy code from an article in IE the clipboard isn't filled. If I use Firefox it works fine. Is there a problem with the oncopy.js script used on the codeproject pages?
Update!
-------
Oops, disabled paste operations via script in IE security settings. Works now.
Still, I think this setting should be disabled - other sites might not be as nice...

First, when a person logs in to Code Project, is it possible to have the same page appear logged in? Currently, it opens up the main page and then the user has to click on back to go back to where s/he was.
Second, is it could you possible feasible to add a layer for the messages, so that when you click on next or back, the messages section refreshes without refreshing the entire page?

Since there are server performance issues the article submission guide often creates the article but the browser gets a timeout. The result are article duplicates because people keep trying to post and don't realize that there are already two or three duplicates.
Could you please implement a check routine for the submission guide that prevents people from creating more than one article with the same subject?

It is now 13:49 hours on my little clock. I just posted a message to CodeProject which stated:
<subject> Wouter van Vugt 6:41 1 Apr '05
2 possibilities;
my post went lightning fast and arrived before I posted it.
codeproject isn't handling the time zones correctly (yeah, I know, probably not it .

I noticed that there are not many recent news on the front page. What about creating kinda news taskforce to update the news more recently with every important news from the business, the industry, new developments and so on...?

I would LOVE for there to be a group who sends in news items on a regular basis. You volunteering?

With a small team it would be possible to do it.
For me alone it would be rather impossible

What would be involved and what sort if news should go up front? Upcoming Microsoft Chats perhaps?
|
|
|
|

I'm thinking about the same kind of news as now, but more... there are many events, but nobody posts them here.
Examples would be new products, conferences, new standards, big industry news (e.g. management reports), historical dates from your business, etc...

How about a blog-like thing where platinum and gold members could post news stories?

Hmm, there are quite a lot gold members, I think that would cause trouble.
Imagine every gold member could post... many news duplicates, bad news, maybe dirty jokes, but not really reliable.
