Funny I haven't noticed that in the few years I've been here. That's my one new thing for the day, so it's time to shutdown now.

There is little official moderation here, most of it is in the Lounge. The readers self-moderate with public humiliation of the transgressors.
Each article has a forum too, so there are far too many forums in total to have every one be moderated. Email webmaster-at-codeproject when you find content in forums that shouldn't be there.

The CodeGuru forums originally were moderated very little and now they are over-moderated; my point is that moderation can go too far.

Every time I type a URL into a message and click either the link or link[^] button to format it, the actual link has a '"' character appended to the end resulting in a malformed link which I have to manually correct before posting. For example,
www.codeproject.com
Am I the only person experiencing this problem or is it already known by the admins ?
FYI, I'm using Firefox 2.0a.

How about having a forum or Page for commonly asked questions?
It could probably be from a set of questions frequently asked, or it could be updated by users on howto do something, it would be like a miniature article but not with that much detail.

Nobody will read it, they will go straight to lounge and post the question there
Large cats have been scientifically proven to dream. Among the recurring themes are balls of yarn, mice, and half-blind overweight shackled oryx.

I would agree with you that most of them would do that.
But if we can atleast get 20-30% to check that page, or atleast redirect these people to go thru that page, it would be a start.
I find a lot of questions which turn out to be very silly and irritating for an advance programmer. Lots of question are left unanswered and they could find the answer in that page.

I was just browsing the suggestions, and noticed that there are frequent requests for "this or that" forum. Has The Code Project ever considered an area for User Defined Forums? (or some such hodgepodge) I'm sure there would be many ramifications with this, but it is a thought.

Here's why:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/comments/forums.asp?msg=1475364&forumid=2605#xx1475364xx[^]
About 18 months ago someone posted my (and some other CPians) email addresses on a public forum under the subject "People I hate" - probably someone we argued in The Soapbox with. Luckily for me, it was an old email address, but I'll wager that the enormous amount of spam that address gets nowadays is probably related to this childish behaviour. If email addresses are removed from the mails you send when replying to a post, then this situation could be avoided in future.
Thoughts?

It may just be a coincidence, but at least 18 of the people on the list I recognise as CPian's.
