Hi Chris,
I'm receiving a double newsletter email and double notification of messages posted (or answers) in the formus. I'm wondering if this happens to me only or to someone else too.
Or does it have to do with my recent email address change?

I found it was my Hotmail account on Outlook Express giving me double messages...

That comforts me a little, since I'm not the only one 
I discovered that trying to delete the duplicate message, and then I found both copies in the recycle bin.

Hi,
I belive that due to large number of developers who constantly come to this site, it could be a nice idea to add a Java section to CodeProject.
I belive a lot of people has ideas to contribute and it will help many others.
What do you think of a idea?

We can do better than that  (<-- that's meant to be an enigmatic smile to make you think we have something up our sleeves (which we do) but instead it seems to convey displeasure at, say, a cat coughing up a dead frog on your carpet (which it also has, but this is irrelevant))

Can someone write or show me to a sample for using recordsets in COM (C++) server with early & late binding clients? I have see the samples here but I need use with many clients like C++ and automation. So I think I need use a VARIANT not _Recordset. But can't do so it works with C++ and VB clients with early binding and also automation clients with late binding & IDispatch.
The perfect sample would have code for the server and the many clients.
Please forgive my english is poor.

After replying to a post on the lounge, it will always go back to using lounge.asp instead of forum.asp, so the forum list at the top is lost.

IOW I'm going to use the 'it's by design' cop-out. The scripts were never designed to allow a single board to have two or more hosting pages, so it defaults back to it's rightful place after you post. It can be fixed, but it will be a while till I get a chance to deal with it.

Hey,
I was just wondering if it would be possible to have a resources section attached with each of the different message boards. I know at the moment there are the AMAZON Books banners on the side [very good idea - any chance that you could select that you want either amazon.com or amazon.co.uk or amazon.where.ever on your profile??].
But how about a section attached to each of the different boards [except the soapbox and the lounge] where people can go in and recommend books and there could be links to the relevant book on amazon or elsewhere... just a thought

Are you getting close to being able to insert the target="_blank" inside all anchor tags so we get new windows on links?

There is a preview option for posting to the forum even though you can modify any mistakes you make after posting,
However, there is not preview when selecting the "email author" option. This would be a great addition as half the time I send an email I never know if my marked up email is going to look like I intend.
Another idea would be an option in your user profile that allows you to specify that you want a copy of any mail you send to someone else to also be emailed to your defined email address.

This is a very very good idea Tom. What I usually did till now was to hit back and go back and read the text in the edit box

I suggest that you form a sponsors page or if it exists make it more visible from the root page. For example I know you have contact now with Amazon but when I want to go buy a book I am not finding the link. Yes you probably consider me an old "guy" (or other words) but if I am not finding the link others may not also. How about an entry at the bottom of the premium sponsors list to (All Sponsors). That way I can find it when I can help.

Of course the Amazon link isn't listed, to the left of the banner ad at the top is an image that says Banners, clicking that takes you to the list of ads.

I banged out a JavaScript function that will take the text in a field and wrap it in link tags and then append it to the message area. Similar to the "Quote Selected Text" button you have now.
I figured you could put another button next to the "Quote" button and a small text field next to that. Then users could paste a URL into the field in whatever form and click the button and it would process it into the message. This saves users the typing of the tags, and makes sure that the damn target is set!!! 
This function also adds the "http://" if the user doesn't include it and if someone just clicks the button it will append a blank link tag that they can fill in themselves.
I have included the function within pre tags below. Just call it from a button's onclick and make sure the text field name matches, it should be ready to go otherwise. I tried to match your existing form and field names as best I could to make it as easy to drop in as possible.
Just doing my best to help out as things occur to me.

BTW, if anyone is curious the function name, "InLinkErAtor", is a reference to a brand of garbage disposal here in the states named "InSinkErAtor". I was having garbage disposal problems shortly before writing this.

I would prefer regex myself. In fact that is how I do it elsewhere. I just thought that since he hadn't done it yet perhaps he didn't want to add anything to the message parseing here.
I wrote this before I noticed his post in the ASP forum, and I have been posting to him about it over there since I noticed.
