I have actually considered upgrading for the CP Icon, thingy.
I can hear it now "....Convert to Visual Studio.NET and get a free Code Project icon...", not a bad idea but Collin there are a lot of other GREAT reasons to begin using the .NET Framework aside from an icon.

I'd quite like it there were a "shocked" smiley - something like a smiley with his hair standing on end. Sometimes , and just don't feel like the right response. (Maybe it could be similar to but with an open mouth and exclamation marks?)

Hi,
I noticed that this AD loads from an external site:
http://s0b.bluestreak.com/ix.e?ir&s=71861&n=1629192
Since at work we are behind a web filtering firewall, I only have access to certain sites. Each time the page loads which contains external links, an error pops up on my browser. I would be grateful if these ads where stored on Codeproject!!!
Thanks,
James

Then what's the point of the ADs???
ADs will always be from an external site so that they can count hits and stuff.

Unfortunately we're not able to do that in this case since eHelp needs the ads to be served from BlueStreak for ad tracking purposes.

Chris,
You replied to me? I thought your reply should be to the head-poster which in this case is one of the Pullicino twins

I have implemented most of the requested features and I have made the whole thing dramatically more cross browser compatible.
I still have a couple of features to implement and compatibility issues to work out, but I thought I would post the most recent version for everybody to look over and shake down while I finish up.
If you find anything that you think it needs, anything you think doesn't work right, or if you just have a comment about it please post it in this thread. I will keep an eye on it and track any issues that come up.

I see you fixed the caret position problem. You should keep a revision history also so we can see all the features and test them.
A combo with fonts will be cool also.

I wanted to do that, I just didn't have the time to type one up. I will do it soon. Work is just crazy right now.

I thought about that, but I came up with so many complications that I havn't done anything with it yet. I'll keep trying to see if I can come up with a way to do it.
Now, back to work.

Also a combo of text colors is useful

You are specifically trying to come up with features that are a pain in the arse to implement in a web UI aren't you?
I'll add it to the list though.

and a spell checker - we need a javascript spell checker in it that is less than 20Kb, cross browser and will fix all my spelling mistakes automatically.

Have you considered having a regular coding competition, the goal being to enhance CP? This month the 20k spell checker, next the post ticker, after that Mozilla-friendly forum code...

Absolutely! I actually was planning on doing this with the ASP.NET version (which keeps getting pushed back because of a poor planning decision by the guy who decided how many hours in the day there'd be)

Actually at one point I was going to try and plug into ASpell with JavaScript, but I never got anywhere with it.
