...so when I get to the New Thread screen I start typing. When the page finishes downloading it sets the cursor back to the subject box so I have to delete what I've accidentally typed in the subject box and get back to where I was typing. It's very minor, buts it's kind of an annoyance.

Hello Raffi
I don't think Chris can do anything about that. It's intended behaviour for any browser, I'd say. A solution would to be type your post into notepad and then copy/paste. That's what most of us do, anyway

Serious? Notepad? Wow...

I'd have thought you'd use the old command line debug program and type your bytes in directly. Now I'm disillusioned.

All my major text inputs are done in notepad as well.
There is nothing worse than spending a few minutes on a rant or reply and then CP won't process the post.
I've been burnt too often to go through that all the time.

Nope, here is the offending piece of script.
<script language="JavaScript" for="window" event="onload">
<!--
document.MessageForm.Subject.focus();
</script>
I've never really noticed it on CP, but it always pisses me off when sites force focus onto a control when a page is done loading, because I might just have been busy reading something in another window.
Same with any application really, what gives another app the right to sieze focus.

The question of the day would be more enjoyable for me if I could answer and get the answer immediatly. Probably save the responses and give prizes to the top scores. I don't know... just a thought.

Maybe making it into a Poll would be a good idea, with the correct answer highlighted. Then we'd be able to see how many people are getting it wrong

this one should have a different tag.
Look a little funny when people are posting questions
with a class dtor.
class::~class()
And while im at it, it would be nice if
you just could select something in the forums dropdown
combo and end up there without having to press the go button.
And the go button....should be a pixel or 2 wider..

It's not important what it does, the only thing that matters
is how it looks.
Applies to everything.....cars, women, MS software...

Informal Poll for another daft suggestion !
How many CPians would like/use
Bob Leather Jackets ?
Similar to the bomber crew ones.

I'd like one... but then again it does depend on the price as well

Yes, I think CP should launch a whole apparel line.
Some of us need to get dressed.
Actually a Cap with a stuffed toy version of Bob on it would be a hit with the kidz.

All new members with feminine names should be required to submit signed medical records attesting that they are indeed female. The same goes for names which are gender-neutral (i.e. Pat, Francis, Cecil), or are given a feminine appearance (Richard).

Amen.
Of course that still won't be good enough for *some* people. They'll want naked photos of their private area, just to be absolutely sure. Then again *some* people might happily oblige.
But hey. Let's keep this a family site.
