Every time I do a limited search, such as only C++/MFC articles, articles from all of the sections appear, mainly C# articles. Is this because it does an C++/MFC search first, then adds related articles if a close match isnt found? I think the search would be easier if the filters actually left out all the unwanted subcategories.

Our search isn't great but a new version is currently in beta that, we hope, will fix these problems

I don't see why people would come to CP to share their jokes when there are a plethora of websites out there dedicated to just such an endeavour.
The lounge is simply decending into a forum where people post the latest joke their friend/collegue/sig. other has told them. The problem is multifold:
1) These jokes tend to be as old as the hills
2) This is a programming website - not a joke board!
3) It quashes any decent convesation that may be possible in the lounge
Im sorry to be a stick-in-the-mud but is there any way that these worthless (IMO) threads could be either discouraged or at least moved to their own forum.

It's a fine line between having a boring lounge, an interesting lounge and a lounge swamped by crap.
Use the vote buttons and let others filter out the crap

The Lounge is a place where you can discuss anything that takes your fancy. If you just want to laze about and discuss things that don't quite fit elsewhere, then this is the place.

So what? Jokes in the Lounge are fine in my opinion, as long as they fit the kid-sister rule.

I went to my profile page, then photo was showing "you must be logged in to view other members images". But when I clicked on the my articles page, it showed the image. Still I have not logged in. Then what is the use of blocking it in the profile page ?

It's a subject unto itself.
If a VBer posts a RegEx question in the VB forum I won't see it because I never go there. He could cross-post to all those four forums (fora?), but that's frowned upon. Plus grouping them together would make searching for the answer easier.

Nope - it isn't. A lot of people really dislike Flash, so you would end up alienating them.

Flash isn't banned but ActiveX controls inside articles is (and so, by extension, is flash).
I'm happy to allow Flash but I've yet to see a single situation where flash is better than text and images. If you are thinking "screencasts" then that's a different story and I don't think Flash is the answer there.

A screencasts or video tutorial section on CP would be really good. I'm not sure how the hamsters would cope with the extra load though, but it's definitely one to consider.
