Elina Blank wrote: By design.
Taking this moment as an example, when the date filter is "Last Day", there is only one single page in "Suggestions and Bug Reports forum" because the message count is less then 50 (my setting value). And when I change the filter to "Last Week", the page amount becomes three because there are more than 100 and less than 150 messages within the period. In another words, the page count is based on how many messages within a specific timespan range.
When the counter is correct and it reaches the last page, the link [Next] would not show up. But when the counter is incorrect, when it reaches the last page (for example 4th), the [Next] link is still valid. And when [Next] is clicked and it jumps to the "5th" page, the [Next] link is gone and the page count at bottom-right still shows [1 2 3 4] (actually I am on Page 5th but there is not a "disabled" 5 on the list).

The page counter has its maximum values to show. It is used to allow you to jump from page to page, but within the certain range.
So, if there are actually 10 pages, the page counter will move to, say, next 4 pages after you will get to page 5.
Hope, you understood what I mean
Sincerely,
Elina

OK, I think that I figured it out. Let's say I see this (underline meaning hyperlink-enabled) :
1 2 3 Next >> Which means there are 4 pages within the range. When I am on Page 3rd, it displays as:
<< Prev 1 2 3 Next >> Then I move on to Page 4th, and it shows:
<< Prev1 2 3 Note that the Next >> is gone!

But it is asymmetric regarding to the head case (Page 1st) and the tail case (Page the last).

Both of these provide me with the same issue, namely it appears to have done nothing (and places you on the first page of the forum, say The Lounge), then if I click "Next" I get taken straight to my post (either the one I just posted, or the one I clicked on from my user messages in my profile), regardless of how many pages in it is...
Yes, I have also been receiving the "site logs me out" issue also, but haven't been onsite here since you updated your post (until today), so will let you know tomorrow if it logs me out again...
Here I'm using XP and IE6. (Don't laugh, some businesses still use these.)

I think the homepage is cached for a little long duration for server load issues. They may restore it after visiting other acute issues with server performance.

Tell me about it... I've been on hold to Optus for 76 mins and spoken to six different people (waiting to speak to the seventh) to try to resolve a cockup that they made when setting up my business phone contract... sheesh...

It appears that the sticky forum messages are missing. I paricularly noticed it here in the Suggestions / Bugs forums since Chris replied to someone to check the message at top of the forum but the sticky with the current bug list is no longer there.

Okay, here's what the problem is. The sticky messages are dependent on the date filter selected. Making the stickies subject to the date filter defeats the purpose of having a message always appear at the top of a forum.

It is true to "Suggestions and Bug Reports forum", however it does not act this way with both two of my computers regarding to the sticky message of "Visual C++ forum".
My date filter is "All", but unless I post some message replies to VC++ forum, I do not see the sticky message ("How to get answers....").

When I post replies to forum messages, I often gets the following message.

With IE 7.0 under WinXP + SP2 (Eng Edition), if the text lines last too long in a pair of pre tags, the horizontal scrollbar does not show up. And there would be no way to reach "Edit" or "Delete".

You can adjust the resolution down to 1280x800.

you could decrease the dpi setting of yours, that's one of the "Display Properties",
on XP it is under the Settings tab, Advanced button.
If need be, use a magnifying glass with that.

Hi Chris (and Co),
When I click on a Zip link, and choose "Open", I get a blank Zip file?
As pointed out by Luc Pattyn: it seems like an empty ZIP if you try to open it inside Internet Explorer; but when you save it in IE, then open it, everything is fine??
Before the CodeProject rework, it worked fine; Is there a reason for this (that you know of - besides it being an MS product )
Assuming this is just a hickup, is it something that will be fix in the near future (or is it possibly a problem with WinZip/M$)?
Regards,
Dan
