How about a forum for Software Development, testing techniques etc? Or is this covered elsewhere?

Seems to be for those looking for testers rather than talking about it! Maybe it could be expanded in remit?

I think it would be nice to email someone from their profile, through web CP functionality (ie. user's email address kept confidiental). It seems that currently you can only email users via Article postings.
just a suggestion.

Well that option's sort of available, but you have to go via a forum post of theirs to get to it

Well, "sort of" is the keyword, I was suggesting to have the functionality without having to tie to a article or post. This way you could contact people that haven't wrote or posted articles. It would be a small change, just a matter of accepting a user id as a param to CP's mail form asp page. Chris might not do this in fear of spammers, I am not sure.
Cheers.

Would it be possible to get http://www.codeproject.com/lounge to point to www.codeproject.com/lounge.asp.. I constantly forget to type the .asp onto the end..

Brian, just make the Lounge your home page,
Thousands of others have done this.

Or:
replace your start page in VS.NET with The Lounge.
You'll never have to ALT-TAB again!

Would do only for it's in work that I normally have this problem.. or in college.. places where the machines are restricted.

A tiny gripe.
When I click the "New Message" in the forums it loads the page I sm seeing now.
"However it doesn't tell me which forum I'm posting to."
This isn't normally a problem but occasionally the pages load slowly and I go make a coffee or do some other stuff while the page loads.
When I return, I feel unsure as where I'm posting the message to.
However I have learned now to check the URL in my address box to see where the message is going.
Just a thought.

I'll second that. It's happened to me several times. I now live in fear that by accident i'll flame someone's question in C++ or correctly answer one in the Soapbox...

Cheers Shogi,
Actually I have noticed a few messages of yours in the past that appeared to be a bit out of place, maybe now we have an explanation.

I was looking for an article I saw some time ago about a prog to change the display mode via a simple command line program.
So, I typed in "change display mode".
Result: Page 1 of 10 (items 1 - 10 of 100)
I didn't find it within the first 10 articles, so I press <next>.
Result: No matches found.
What's wrong?
