Jason McBurney wrote: assuming unasnswerd questions are bad. Is that true?
No, they aren't making that assumption at all. There are actually multiple issues here.
1. Posts should always be displayed in the same order, regardless of how many answers a post has.
2. Posts may be unanswered for several reasons:
a. The post is just junk and no one wants to give it any more attention.
b. The post doesn't make sense.
c. The post simply got missed.
3. In your proposal, not only would posts jump around based on the number of answers, but all posts without an answer would always be on the first page.
If the desire is to quickly see all of the posts with no answers, there is a "View unanswered questions" option for each forum which does exactly that. Yes, it requires an explicit choice by the reader but it keeps the flow of the forums consistent and moving forward with older posts falling to later pages as new ones are added.

On my dev machine I got script error "missing ')' ". I fired the debugger and behold noticed a missing ')' on the two functions ConfirmDelete() and ConfirmModify() in /script/forums/list.aspx
no harms, just annoying when running with script debugging turned on.

Maybe that's a sign to change banks?

I have marked few articles today and I can't see them in my bookmarks list. Event my previously marked bookmarks are not there.
When I click on My Bookmarks link, it shows me, "Sorry! We could not find the information for your request."
What am I missing here.

I like the "Normal" thread layout in the forum but would like to view more than 50 posts per page. 100 maybe.
Any way to do this? I'm not bothered if the page takes longer to load - I always end up pressing Next anyway which takes even longer.
Ta.
Cheers

If you've en watching the session count you might have noticed load has jumped fairly dramatically (20% - 30% in the last couple of weeks). This is the reason.
We have ordered a new box of newer, faster, better, stronger hampsters - they should be arriving next week. We'll also then be able to turn on our SQL farm which will be very excitement.

I can always loan you a hamster. OK, ours likes to run on the outside of the wheel (jammed up against the cage) getting its little hamster jollies, but boy can it run.

Yeah, it's Tuesday.
Actually, I had very little trouble last Tuesday; that message only showed for article message forums.
But I just came over here now because I got it in the C# forum. The Lounge was OK.

Dear CodeProject Admins,
As a foreign developer who wants to work overseas,
I pay attention to every job postings here.
Of course I know there's little job opportunity
that I can get Visa sponsor, but if I can figure out
a certain job is 'Visa supported' then it will be
very helpful. [Smile]
You know, I see a job which seems to fit with my
career experiences and skill level, then I read the
job qualifications and... find out there's no mention whether
I also can apply or not... It's somewhat frustrating.
I know CodeProject is not a Job site, but to most of us
the Job postings in here is much trustworthy then others
in job specific sites.
So, what I am suggesting is,
I think you can provide a 'Category' or option for
specifying whether a new job is 'Visa supported or not'...
What do you think? [Wink]
|
|
|
|
|
'Vis supported' means "The company will sponsor a visa application for you"?
We can add that...

So, what happened to my years and years of bookmarks stored here? They are all gone. Even the ones that I just put there a few days ago.
Not sure WHEN it happened as it has been a while since I last accessed them.
|
|
|
|
|
As far as I can see your hundreds (wow) of bookmarks are still there.
Suggestions on how to make them more manageable for you would be good.
