Would it be possible to include the "Quote selected text" button in other browsers apart from IE? I use Opera and it isn't displayed there and it is a very useful feature

Opera doesn't support (at least at the time we wrote it) the functionality necessary.

I can't seem to load it properly. So far it's the only one I have seen this behavior. It seems to load but then in a few seconds the page is overwritten and only like two lines of HMTL are rendered in the top left corner

bummer, it's still happening today. I am unable to use that forum.
Is there anything I can do that will aid you with this problem?
When I disabled Greasmonkey the problem is not present. So at least I can access the forum.

Hey Chris, eventually that problem disappeared with the C++/CLI forum. Now today it is reappeared with the Design/Architecture forum.
First the page seems to load, I can see it for a second or two then it is replaced, almost like it's a document.write() being done. I'm using tabs in firefox and it seems to think the page never finishes loading since the tabs logo is doing that loading animation with "Loading..." to the right of it.
Ok, I just watched it again and even the CP logo in the tab renders along with the forum name, for that second or two then the loading animation starts when the page is overwritten.
Hope that helps.

Next time it happens can you try loading in a different browser and see if it happens?
Also, if you could please send me a dump of the page source (View -> View Source -> Save to file) then that might give me more of a clue.

Hey Chris,
As I stated in my previous reply[^] this only happens in Firefox with GreaseMonkey running CPHog.
I just tried to View Source but there is none, probably because the browser doesn't think it has finished loading.
I just thought that the information that the behavior has now stopped in one forum and started in another might help you discover the cause. It's not a huge problem for me because I can just turn off GreaseMonkey to access the forum, then turn it back on again.

Hey Chris, Yesterday the Managed C++/CLI forum was still exhibiting that behavior but today it is not.
Just in case you might want to work on the problem and this information might help by narrowing down the time of changes in behavior.

I think, the default location "your country" for the membership sign-up page should not be USA. Also, the default time zone should not reflect -5:00 GMT. This makes new members default location to USA, which does not reflect their location. It is true that any one can change it to what ever they want, but by default, it should not be set to particular region.
How about either making this field optional and let user select their location?
As a bonus, detect the users IP address and map it to their region.

I've noticed the ASP.NET forums loading up with lame questions at 11:30pm California time, by folks with so-so grammar, using words like "urgent", that say USA for their country. Sure

With IE7 their seems to be an issue with text not wrapping or text going beyond scrollable view when someone posts in the forums. I was posting: this message[^] trying to make a point and I could only see the edit/delete buttons in Mozilla Firefox. In IE7 half of the message was cut off including the buttons so I couldn't edit what I posted until I switched to Mozilla.
