How do I change the status to "published" status?
Is it the "Mark this article as updated" checkbox?
Thanks,
Sunny

Sunny,
The only way currently to do that, is by email to our editors.
This would be changed soon, sorry fo inconvinience again.

Shows your article as updated. This is not related to publishing status.
Your article became "composing" when you were in the Submission wizard, step 3.
There is a checkbox, saying "Work in Progress - do not make public".
You left that checkbox checked, and this left your article is in the composing status.
Sincerely,
Elina

Hi Sunny,
Your article's status is now "pending" meaning it is being reviewed by Code Project users prior to submission.

Probably won't get approved until you fix all the broken image links.

Hello,
From my observation number of times a specific article has been bookmarked is more than number of votes it has. I suggest that when someone bookmarks an article, there is a prompt asking if the user would like to vote for the article. The reason for this is to increase number of people that vote for an article. People usually don't vote for an article because they are just lazy or forget about it. On the other hand, when someone bookmarks an article it means that he/she is interested in it. So codeproject can encourage someone to vote for an article.
What do you think?

I'm of two minds about this.
1. Yes, excellent idea since if you bookmark it, you probably like it
2. No, because often people bookmark before they read and we specifically have the voting buttons at the bottom of the article to ensure members have at least scanned the article before voting.

I lean slightly to (2). If I want to vote, I will. I'm tired enough of all the damn questions that Vista asks, I don't want more.

In that case prompt can say something like this: "You have just bookmarked an article. Would you like to read and vote for the article?"

When you try to print an article, the string ?display=PrintAll gets tacked on to the article's url. This gives you the article plus the first page of comments. If you click on Next, you get - you guessed it - the article plus the next page of comments. Not really what you want, print-wise.
I'd like to request an option to get the article and all the comments - maybe ?display=ReallyPrintAll, or (my personal favorite) ?display=PrintAllForHans.

So you're saying you can do it, but there will have to be a max limit on the number of comments printed? That sounds reasonable.

The number of messages that show up in the print mode is the same as the number of messages per page you have set in the normal view.
Would it help if, in the print mode, I always maxed out this number? Not sure if this would then result in a counter-intuitive UI (I can see the 'Why doesn't the number of messages printed honour my settings?' emails.)

I don't think you get it, Chris. Why on earth would you want to print the article N times? This is PRINT MODE for god's sake. I want to print ONE copy of the article, and ONE copy of all the messages. Either make the max something reasonable (like 500 or 1000), or make Next work like dan suggests.

Perhaps in print mode the next link should just give the next page of comments to print instead of also including the original article.
Today's lesson is brought to you by the word "niggardly". Remember kids, don't attribute to racism what can be explained by Scandinavian language roots.

I agree with Dan, but maybe as an easy interim fix, simply increase the max "Per Page" to be more than 50 (i.e., 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 300)?
I like to save the articles and messages to PDF. Maybe another option would be to create a PDF on the server side with the article and all messages, then let the user download it.

Claire, it's great to see people taking an interest in older threads, but you might want to modify your signature to remove spammable links.

...since the new server: .78s to load the Lounge! I used to have time to reach for my coffee, take a sip (or two) before the Lounge came up. Now, my hand doesn't even reach the cup!
Thanks, Chris!
BTW, what are the specs on the new server?

It's the Hampster 3000 'FurBlaster'. 16 linked perfectly symmetrical cages, ceramic bearings, carbon fibre spokes, wind tunnel tested and titanium outer mesh. The thing rocks.
I'm glad it's made a difference.
Now, on to those requests of yours...

CP is not remembering my session. Whenever I open a new page, it asks me to sign in again. Anyone also experiencing this?
Note that its 5am GMT when I am getting this error, and I am using Firefox.
